In the 1920's Wally worked for Neil (Cornelius) Vanderbilt. This became a life-long friendship.

1952 Newsletter - Here is a very important historical document. This is one of Neil Vanderbilt's newsletters. It is the who's who of visitors that came to the Airstream in Chicago. (pdf document) One of the most historic trailers made by Wally was the trailer used at the convention in Chicago and in London for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth. I have a letter from Wally to Neil telling him that he is on the Board of Directors of Airstream. |
