Bowers Mansion – photo gallery

Home to a famous silver baron, this house provides a great insight of life in the mid 1800's. Bowers Mansion was built by Nevada's first millionaire, Sandy Bowers and his wife Eilley Orrum

Bowers Mansion is just down the road from Davis Creek Campground and includes several acres of park and a public swimming pool. There are also several hiking trails nearby. The Sierra Nevada Unit has had several summer picnics here.

For some great pictures of the park check the following website: http://ponderosascenery.homestead.com/files/bowers.html

Virginia City

Virginia City put Nevada on the map with the discovery of gold and silver in the nearby hills and mountains. It has a famous (and infamous) history. The mineral resources were instrumental in Nevada becoming a state.
