Description
In Portola CA. This is a living museum. Many of the trains still run. The building housing the exhibits and gift shop is still a working train repair and maintenance shop. It is also home to a custom built 42ft Airstream that is is in dire need of restoration.
Held at the Truckee River Whitewater Park at Wingfield, in downtown Reno Nevada. This event includes all sorts of activities both on the river and along the river banks.
Burning Man is an event, it is a community, and it is an experience. For a short period of time over the Labor Day weekend a community springs up on the Black Rock playa near Gerlach Nevada.

Held each year in September at the WW II era Stead Airbase, the roar of low flying aircraft circle pylons in the desert north of Reno.
Held the first week of August about 5,000 cars from the 50's and 60's register and many more visit to show off restored hot rods and the history of the automobile.

The county health department maintains several chicken flocks over the summer as a disease monitoring program.
Held each September, activities include the fantastic Dawn patrol, hare and hound races and balloon black jack.
If you like BBQ ribs, this is the event for you. Held over the Labor Day Weekend, this event located on Victorian Square in Sparks provides entertainment, craft booths as well as vendors from all over the world competing for the honor of cooking the best ribs in the west.
