SNU Rally at Ramhorn Springs

Location: From Susanville: Travel north on U. S. Highway 395 approximately 45 miles. The access road is approximately 2.4 miles north of the California Department of Transportation Roadside Rest Area. Turn east (right) onto BLM Road 26000. Travel approximately 2.5 miles. The campground will be adjacent to the road on your left. BLM Road 26000 is an unimproved dirt road that can become impassable as a result of wet weather. The road is passable by vehicles pulling trailers but can be rough and dusty. (from the BLM website) Camping is in individual sites. There are 10 sites available. There are two entrances to the campground. Go past the first entrance and turn in at the second.

Facilities and fees : This is a primitive BLM campground. There is a box for donations at the entrance to the campground. There are no facilities other than a pit toilet. The camping area has a hard packed gravel surface with some level areas and some that require leveling.

Nearby attractions: Ramhorn is a great place for hiking and bike riding. The area is a designated Native Plant study area. There is a small stream through the area fed in part by a spring that is located in the campground. The water in the spring is not potable.
Finding the Rally Site: The SNU now provides the means for you to put its rally sites on your electronic map. If you don't have a GPS or a PND or a computer with a mapping program, you can still take the file and use it to find coordinates on your paper maps.
What to expect at an SNU rally : Never been to an SNU rally? This page will give you information on arrival and departure times, meals, activities, and other information that will help make the rally an enjoyable experience.
Boondocking SNU Style: SNU rallies are a great way to experience camping “off grid” Our usual rally sites have no electricity or other hookups. Water is frequently not available. For the SNU, this type of camping enhances the experience and we are never without all the comforts of home
