SNU Rallies at Boca Springs Group Area

Location: Northwest of Reno about twenty miles. Take I80 west towards Truckee. Exit at the Hershdale exit and go over the bridge and up the road to the dam. About 1 mile from the freeway. Continue around the east side of the reservoir for about one half mile. The road to Boca Springs Group campground will be on your right. There is a sign at the turn off. You will be driving about a quarter mile up the road to the campground. Note – the road is narrow and mostly gravel with a slight grade.

Facilities: No water, pit toilets, campfire pits, fairly level area for parking. packed dirt.

Nearby attractions: Boca Springs - fishing and boating in Boca Reservoir, hiking, birdwatching, and off road bike trails, nearby historic sites.

Boondocking SNU Style: SNU rallies are a great way to experience camping “off grid” Our usual rally sites have no electricity or other hookups. Water is frequently not available. For the SNU, this type of camping enhances the experience and we are never without all the comforts of home
