Rally – Blue Lakes – Dispersed Area

Thursday October 16 to Sunday October 19, 2008

Note: In case of inclement weather this rally will be held at Pyramid Lake – Pelican Point

3 Day rally for SNU and WBCCI members. Visitors welcome. SNU Board meeting on Saturday open to all. Be sure to monitor weather and road conditions as the alternate will be used for the rally if severe weather or road controls are indicated. Location: Off Hwy 88 in Hope Valley, CA at the Blue Lakes Road intersection in Hope Valley

From Reno, take 395 south to SR88. Follow SR88 through Woodfords into Hope Valley. Continue past the Meyers turnoff. Go about 3 or 4 miles to the Blue Lakes road. Make a left on Blue Lakes road. The first set of camping areas is only 1/10 of a mile on your right behind the outhouse there are spaces under the trees. To the left is an open meadow.

What to expect at an SNU rally

Never been to an SNU rally? This page will give you information on arrival and departure times, meals, activities, and other information that will help make the rally an enjoyable experience.

Additional Information on the Blue Lakes October Rally

Arrival time - anytime after noon on Thursday October 16th

Fees: Kitty Kall: $5 per rig per night payable at the rally or online in advance (see below)

Events and activities: Morning coffee klatch is from about 7 to 9 on Saturday and Sunday. Happy hours will likely occur on Friday and Saturday starting about 5 p.m. The unit meeting will be held Saturday at about 1 p.m. following the pot luck lunch. All gatherings will be informal and BYO (bring your own) to share as suits your karma. If you want to coordinate and plan, then form your own conspiracy with whomever is handy! Bring wood for campfires

Weather: moderate, can be cool at night. October weather can be changeable.

Facilities: This is a dispersed area and there are no facilities.

Nearby attractions: Fishing in the lakes, great hiking and bike riding, bird watching.

If you can't make it for the entire time, feel free to join us for a few hours, one day, or whatever time frame fits your schedule.
