When you have your pictures in electronic form, you can share them with the world on the web. You can get your own web host and domain name and set up your own web site or you can take advantage of one of the many sites that provide free services supported by advertising or donations.
To make your use of the web to share your photographs as efficient as possible, you should first prepare your images for sharing and place the image files in a convenient place on your hard drive.
prepare copies and not your original pictures
crop and adjust the picture for best effect.
resize the picture for web viewing (800x600 or less)
learn the rules, exceptions, limitations, and preferences of your gallery hosting service
prepare the documentation for your pictures and your gallery
transfer your images to your gallery hosting service
complete the gallery preparation process as appropriate for your gallery hosting service.
Note the URL for your new gallery.
Preview the gallery in your web browser and check everything
Share the URL with your friends
