Sierra Nevada Airstreams -|- Owners guide

Enjoyment of the whispering winds, the zephyrs, the airstreams of the Sierra Nevada and Great Basin areas of the United States in a recreational vehicle.

About the Owner's Guide

Getting out and about and enjoying the airstreams of the Sierra Nevada and Great Basin will be safer and more comfortable and more enjoyable if you and your equipment are prepared and you know what is going on and what can be found.

I always like to know why as well as how. Many times questions or issues come up and a 'how' answered only generates more questions. A good 'why' answer helps people find their own answers and even create new and better solutions. The Owner's Guide started as short explanations of the 'why' to common problems. These were posted as pages on an experimental web site.

As pages started to accumulate, it became obvious that there was a need to try to make some organizing sense of things. First was to create chapters for various aspects of the RV experience such as preparing, living, driving, touring, maintaining, and so on. Second was to start working towards some consistency in style and presentation.

Each topic or page in this guide can stand by itself. An overview and a summary of critical information is supplemented by a photograph or, perhaps, an accompanying photo album and a set of links to web pages for additional information on the topic can be found.

The hope is to create a usable and entertaining source of information for RV enthusiasts.

About the primary author

Bryan has been subjected to the Travel Trailer lifestyle since day 1 and driving RV's since the sixties. Early experiences were with camp trailers and western United States travel but there are times when a grandfather turned over his Chrysler Imperial and Airstream to a teenage driver under close supervision. From tear drop trailers of 40's and 50's vintage to Holiday Ramblers to Airstreams of all sizes, most of the experience has been with older trailers that needed maintenance and minor repair to keep comfortable on the road.

The avocational and professional interests include science teaching, photography, amateur radio, and the natural sciences such as astronomy. geology, and meteorology. Current professional interests include association management and technology support for small businesses and nonprofit organizations. All of these together provide an experience and theoretical basis for the articles in the Owner's Guide.

Some of the best information is that gained from others. Sometimes there is a jewel that is offered in discussion that the author is willing to share as a contributor to this owner's guide.
