A July 2011 Tour of Northern Nevada, Eastern and Southern Oregon

A rally hosted by the Oregon Unit in Baker City, OR provided the incentive for this trip. We took the opportunity to explore parts of Eastern and Southern Oregon and Northern Nevada. Our route started on Hwy 95 from Winnemmucca and McDermit NV through Rome and Jordan Valley . We then dipped into Idaho and hit I84 to Baker City, OR. From Baker City , we headed west on hwy 7 to John Day. From there we took US 395 to Burns. From Burns we took hwy 205 to Frenchglen and Fields to Denio, NV. From Denio we took hwy 140 to Lakeview, OR. We spent the night at Goose Lake before heading home on US 395. Pretty amazing high desert country. There were lots of wildflowers and several shallow lakes. Both which indicate a wetter than usual winter and spring.
