After 395 and 20 part ways, 395 passes by Alkali Lake and Juniper Mountain (el6679) then a rest stop before Hogback summit at 5033 ft.
Chandler State Wayside south of Lake Albert does not appear to have any camping.
Lakeview - some ski resorts around here.
Goose Lake State Recreation area, with camping, is at the Oregon and California border
Alturas. Good gas stop. Some RV parks as well.
Sage Hen summit (el 5556) is about 30 miles south of Alturas.
A good roadside rest is about 80 miles south of Alturas or about 30 miles from Susanville.
Eagle Lake out of Susanville has several campsites
Another good rest area overlooks Honey Lake.
Doyle is where the grade up to Meadow view Camp starts.
US 70, the Feather River route starts at US 395 just over the California border from Reno
