SNU Rallies at Hickison Petroglyphs, a BLM Campground

Location: Hickison Petroglyphs campground is located 20 miles east of Austin just off US 50 at Hickison Summit . The turnoff is well marked and easily spotted just around a curve in the road coming down from the summit.

Facilities: Good gravel roads and parking spots, pit toilets, no water. There are lots of pinon trees. This is a no fee BLM site

Nearby attractions: Hickison is an historic landmark and there are interpretive trails around the areas petroglyph sites.

Boondocking SNU Style: SNU rallies are a great way to experience camping “off grid” Our usual rally sites have no electricity or other hookups. Water is frequently not available. For the SNU, this type of camping enhances the experience and we are never without all the comforts of home
