SNU Rallies at Green Creek

Location: The turn off to Green Creek Road is about 5 miles South of Bridgeport, CA on U.S. 395. The campgrounds (and rally site are about 7.5 miles from the turn off. Check Wheels report for details. The SNU rally site was in the dispersed area BEFORE the U.S. Forest Service Campground at the end of the road.

Facilities and fees: Dry camping, no water or other facilities. Packed dirt, fairly level parking area. The rally site is right on Green Creek, This is a no fee USFS site

Sights, scenery and SNU rallies along U.S. 395 South of Carson City. Includes Twin Lakes, Obsidian Dome, Virginia Creek, Green Creek and Sage Hen Summit

Nearby attractions: There are lots of hiking options near the rally site and fishing in Green Creek. Green Creek Wildlife area is nearby and is a good place for bird watching, photography and hiking. The ghost town of Bodie is a short drive from the rally site. Twin Lakes is a short drive north of the rally site where there are opportunities for fishing and boating.

Finding the Rally Site: The SNU now provides the means for you to put its rally sites on your electronic map. If you don't have a GPS or a PND or a computer with a mapping program, you can still take the file and use it to find coordinates on your paper maps.

What to expect at an SNU rally : Never been to an SNU rally? This page will give you information on arrival and departure times, meals, activities, and other information that will help make the rally an enjoyable experience.

Boondocking SNU Style: SNU rallies are a great way to experience camping “off grid” Our usual rally sites have no electricity or other hookups. Water is frequently not available. For the SNU, this type of camping enhances the experience and we are never without all the comforts of home
