SNU Rallies at Crocker Campground

Location: Northern California – Plumas County - Off of Highway 70 at Beckwourth, CA. At Beckwourth (coming from US 395 and Reno) turn right on Rt 177, the Beckwourth-Genesee Road. The campground is about ten miles up the road. The road is paved all the way to the turnoff for the campground. Crocker campground is on the left. The turn off at Beckwourth and the campground are well marked with signs.

Notes: Crocker is located in a nice grove of pine trees overlooking a meadow. There are not a lot of level spots in the campground so be prepared to level your rig. Crocker is a primitive NFS campground. There are pit toilets but no water or dump station.

Nearby attractions: Crocker is 3 miles from Lake Davis. It is also close to Portola and the Western Pacific Railroad Museum. For golfers there are several golf courses in Plumas County. The closest to the rally site at Crocker is Grizzly Ranch which is just over the hill on Grizzly road to Davis Lake

Boondocking SNU Style: SNU rallies are a great way to experience camping “off grid” Our usual rally sites have no electricity or other hookups. Water is frequently not available. For the SNU, this type of camping enhances the experience and we are never without all the comforts of home
