Vents and windows closed and latched?


Lug nuts OK?


Jacks up?


Interior equipment, supplies, and trinkets stowed or secured?


Cabinet, locker, refrigerator, and other doors and compartment covers secured?


Hookup hoses and cables disconnected and stowed?


Compartment doors fully closed and latched?


Access covers (sewer, water, electricity) installed and secured?


Steps up and in?

Nuts and bolts tight?


Appropriate parts lubricated?


Ball assembly bar pin in place and secured to receiver?


Coupler securely latched on ball (or equivalent for non ball type hitches)?


Spring bars secured on both ends and properly loaded?


Safety chains connected properly?


Breakaway switch connected?


Electrical umbilical plugged in securely on both ends?


Jacks up and stowed?


Loose or dangling parts secured?


Signal and running lights functioning?


Trailer brake controller functioning and properly adjusted?

Walk Around

Any time you start to get in your seat to drive off, take the long way around and check these things on your way around the rig before heading down the road.

Tires feel solid to kick and don't look low on air?


Hitch parts solid to kick?


Propane tanks and other external equipment tied down and secured?


Anything dangling or loose anywhere?


Anything dripping that shouldn't be (AC often drips at stops in humid areas)?


Chains, breakaway switch cable, and electrical umbilical look securely attached?


Wheels cool?


Windows closed and latched?


Doors fully closed, secured, and locked?


Rig level and straight?


Any indication of anomalies?


Vents down?

Site Check

After you have moved just off the site, take a moment to look at where you were parked

Trash absent?


Any parts or pieces (jacks, leveling blocks, gear) left behind?


Hoses and other hookup apparatus disconnected and stowed?


Site look better than when you arrived?
