Wesite for Ft Crook Museum

As the docent who gave the SNU a tour in 2016 said, Ft Crook is a community. Over the years they have moved, rebuilt, or by other means obtained, most of the basic buildings of a community. In addition the the main exhibit building, the museum property currently has a schoolhouse, a jail, two cabins, a blacksmith shop, a tack room and the iconic round barn. The main exhibit building was built as a replica of the round barn. The docent told us a story about a woman who came to visit the museum and was surprised to see the cabin she grew up in on the property. She had a lot of stories about living in that cabin. During the winter, blacksmithing workshops are held at the museum. It is a great place to visit. The staff and volunteers have done a wonderful job of displaying, documenting and archiving the vast collections in the museum.
