We recently learned that former SNU member, Baxter Swaffer passed away on April 15, 2016. We met Baxter and his wife Marlene at an RV Park in Mammoth Lakes. A few of us had gone there after a rally at Obsidian Dome in August 2011. We saw this little Bambi parked there and of course, Bobbi and some others had to go over and introduce themselves. Baxter and Marlene were invited to breakfast the next morning and we all had a good opportunity to get acquainted. Baxter and Marlene joined the SNU soon after that and were active participants in SNU rallies and luncheons until 2015. Baxter served as SNU treasurer and membership chair in 2014. Baxter’s other interests included participation in the Swedish Club and hiking. He was a dedicated volunteer with the National Automobile Museum in Reno. Baxter also had his own classic 1920’s Ford automobile. We have some great memories of Baxter and Marlene. They will be missed. We send Marlene our sincere condolences.
