SNU Rally – Green Creek
Thursday August 24 – Sunday 27, 2017
3 Day rally for SNU and WBCCI members. Visitors
welcome
- Location: The turn off to Green Creek
Road is about 5 miles South of Bridgeport, CA on U.S. 395. The
campgrounds (and rally site are about 7.5 miles from the turn off.

report for details. The SNU rally site will be in the dispersed
area BEFORE the U.S. Forest Service Campground at the end of
the road.

Finding the
Rally Site: The SNU now provides the means for you to put
its rally sites on your electronic map. If you don't have a GPS or a
PND or a computer with a mapping program, you can still take the
file and use it to find coordinates on your paper maps.

What to expect at an
SNU rally : Never been to an SNU rally? This page will give
you information on arrival and departure times, meals, activities,
and other information that will help make the rally an enjoyable
experience.

Boondocking SNU
Style: SNU rallies are a great way to experience camping
“off grid” Our usual rally sites have no electricity or other
hookups. Water is frequently not available. For the SNU, this type
of camping enhances the experience and we are never without all the
comforts of home

Fees: Kitty Kall: $5 per rig per night payable at the
rally

Events and activities: Morning coffee klatch is from about 7
to 9. Happy hours may occur on Friday and Saturday starting about 4
p.m. Shared meals will be Friday and Saturday around 6 p.m. All
gatherings will be informal and BYO (bring your own) to share as
suits your karma. If you want to coordinate and plan, then form your
own conspiracy with whomever is handy! Bring wood for campfires

Weather: August can be warm during the day and cold at night.

Facilities: Dry camping, no water and no facilities.

Nearby attractions: There are lots of hiking options near the
rally site and fishing in Green Creek. Green Creek Wildlife area is
nearby and is a good place for bird watching, photography and
hiking. The ghost town of Bodie is a short drive from the rally
site. Twin Lakes is a short drive north of the rally site where
there are opportunities for fishing and boating.
