Family
TravelsMost of our family trips revolved around one of Dad's business meetings. The location of those meeting determined our destination, when we left home and how long we were gone. Often while Dad was attending meetings, Mom took us kids to museums, historical places and other points of interest. Family trip destinations included: Canada, Alaska, Mexico, and most of the continental United States
Dale
F. Leipper, job related travelsThroughout his career, but
especially during the 1950's and 1960's, Dad traveled extensively
both in the U.S. and abroad. In a letter he wrote in 1961, he talks
about coming back from a trip to Japan to discover he had invitations
for six more trips within a few months. Dad's trip destinations
included: Russia, Japan, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and South
America.
Note:
Dad wrote almost weekly letters to his parents and other family
members from at least the 1940's through the 1970's. In these letters
he often describes trips and other outings taken by our family or
that he went on as part of his job. As I find these comments I will
use them to annotate various photo galleries or set up an html page
of the comments as I have done for the Big Bend trip.
