The great unravelling. Maybe

These Out-Of-Print Children’s Biographies Repudiate The Bitter Lies Of Today’s Uneducated Anti-Americans. Casey Chalk – “As for the anachronistic charge that Columbus is the “progenitor of white supremacy,” one might as well charge Alexander the Great with inventing imperialism or Genghis Khan with toxic masculinity. … The difference between Troll’s and today’s portrayals of American history is that the former actually tried to tell a coherent, inclusive narrative about our nation, one that sought to find unifying themes among a diverse and disparate set of characters. ”

“Eliciting empathy in the child reader is an essential educational objective because it is required for both civic and family responsibility.
…
Telling kids that their history is full of racist patriarchs fosters cynicism and a Manichean, self-destructive understanding of the past in which some people, namely oppressors, are evil and to be censured; others, namely the oppressed, are good and to be praised. It is this kind of blinkered, perverse thinking that provokes the continued desecration and destruction of our national heritage. Unable to see ourselves in our collective past, we tear it down with impunity.

Amy Coney Barrett Will Be Confirmed Because Kavanaugh Battle Taught GOP To Stop Getting Played By Democrat Dirty Tricks. Mollie Hemingway – “It took a few decades of the left playing the exact same games with most confirmation battles, but finally the right figured out how to render those attacks worthless.”

“let’s not pretend that the left didn’t work through its most prominent media outlets and academics to try to destroy Barrett. They did. The biggest difference is that Republicans simply weren’t playing with these attacks.
…
Rather than the Senate Judiciary Committee immediately responding to the Washington Post’s anti-Kavanaugh attack by bending to the will of the Democrats, this time they just didn’t care.

Senate Committee Advances Barrett SCOTUS Nomination After Democrats Boycott Vote. Tyler Durden – “The Senate Judiciary Committee has voted 12-0 (every Republican on the panel supported her nomination and no Democratic senator voted) to advance Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination for the Supreme Court, despite the ‘boycott’ by all committee Democrats (that’ll show ’em) protesting the “shame process.” AS the Hill notes, every GOP senator was present for the vote, meeting the committee’s rule that 12 members of the panel must be present to report a nomination to the full Senate.”

It is all an effort to convince Democrats voters that the senators are really angry over the nomination and fighting like the dickens to stop it. It is, of course, pure theater with no real impact on the nomination but voters seem to demand little more from politicians today than visceral distractions.
…
The Democrats continue to parade these giant pictures that are designed to portray Barrett like some judicial serial killer surrounded by her victims. Now, they will not even be in the room. The pictures will be all that remains on the Democratic side, a fitting symbol of a now literal empty-sack strategy.

The Corporate Takeover Of ‘Fact-Checking’ Is Just A Different Path To The Same Partisan Censorship. Christopher Bedford – “The last week was a rough one for the fact-check industry, not simply because they demonstrably screwed up a series of very public decisions, but because those decisions exposed them for what they’ve always been: tools for censoring conservatives.”

COVID-19, Risk and Public Policy. Greg Williams – “for argument’s sake, consider some other threats to life and limb over which governments have some say.” … “What eludes me, and has done so for the entirety of the panicdemic, is the meek docility with which Australians have swallowed their governments’ picayune and capricious response to a minor public health menace.”

I & I Editorial Board: A Handy Media Guide To Covering (Up) Democratic Scandals and Even As Media Work To Ignore It, Biden Scandal Just Keeps Growing. “Whatever you think of the New York Post or Donald Trump or Joe Biden, this story is what we in the news business call “news.” Yet the rest of the mainstream press handled it almost exactly as the Times did – as an inconvenience.” Then a list is provided of 8 observations of media behavior. … “The false assertion the media used to not report on growing evidence of salacious and likely criminal activity emerging from Hunter Biden’s laptop was that it was “unverified.” … “ These actions should be punishable by law. Don’t expect the media to do their job. Nor the far-left social media, which are all in on supporting the Democrats in their bid to “fundamentally transform” America from a beacon of freedom into a socialist hell.”

The Unapologetic Bias of the American Left. Victor Davis Hanson – “Today’s Left sees their efforts bending in a preordained historical arc that ends with ultimate progressive justice—and retributions.”

Home Depot Co-Founder: “Fraud” To Suggest Middle-Class Won’t See Higher Taxes Under Biden – but its a campaign promise touted in his advertisements! “There is much more in the Hoover study, especially on the costs of returning to Obama-style regulation. Swampy Joe’s Big Lies. George Neumayr – “The Hunter Biden scandal exposes his “simple” image as a con.” … “The media is working overtime to isolate Hunter as the one bad apple in the Biden family. But the truth is that he picked up his grifting habits from his uncles, aunt, and pop.”

The Biden Influence Empire Is Unraveling. John Hinderaker – “Fox News has more on the Biden family’s dealings with the Chinese Communists. This information doesn’t come from Hunter Biden’s laptop, but rather from the Gmail account of one of the Bidens’ former associates who is now in prison”

Joe Biden tweets out that America is ‘an idea’ and ‘we’ve never lived up to it’. Monica Showalter – “How’s this for the most offensive political ad of the year?” … “Note that this isn’t from his enemies, his party, his creepy allies, something that occurred years ago, or some kind of foreign disinfomation, this is straight from Joe, put out there on Twitter to entice Americans to give him their votes, in his big final push to squeeze the last of them. ” … “There’s a heckuva lot of unpack here in this small space of a tweet, at least three doozies going out like stink bombs to voters.”

What Killed Michael Brown? Mark Tapson – “Shelby Steele’s new documentary delivers a damning indictment of liberalism.”

The City is Killing America. Daniel Greenfield – “America’s real problem are urban problems.”

We Are Over-Preventing Covid. Robin Hanson – “As I’ve noted before, since a lot of government regulation is justified as protecting citizen lives, those who seek to justify more regulation tend to seek higher value of life estimates.” … “Note that I’m not blaming all this excess prevention on government; private choices clearly drive much of it”
