Lies within deceit. Or vice versa?

CBS caught Trump in a lie. Hilarity ensues. Don Surber – “CBS decided to help Democrats by fact-checking in real time President Trump’s address on the need for a wall.” There was much in the media about fact checking the President because ‘everyone just knew’ everything he says is full of lies. Consider this example.

“CLAIM: The president claimed one in three women have been sexually assaulted traveling to the border.

“FACT CHECK: Between 60 percent and 80 percent of female migrants traveling through Mexico are raped along the way, Amnesty International estimates.”

Thanks for making the president’s point.

What, Precisely, Do Democrats Want to Impeach Trump For? Byron York – “In an early 2018 procedural vote, 66 Democrats voted in favor of moving an impeachment measure forward.” There is a tendency to try to equate Trump with Clinton in this area. York doesn’t go there but does illustrate why the differences are important.

“Judging by the articles currently on the table, Democrats will have to raise their impeachment game if they choose to go forward with an attempt to remove the president.

There’s little doubt the new Democratic majority leans farther left than last year’s Democratic minority. Were they put to a vote today, Green’s resolution, or Sherman’s, or Cohen’s, might receive more than the 66 votes a year ago.

On the other hand, even put together, the Green, Sherman and Cohen articles are pretty thin gruel.

EDITORIAL: The nasty rhetoric of political debate is getting out of control. Washington Times – “Dirty words, sticks and stones.” Just how deep do you have to dig to find a Republican example to ‘prove’ both sides are equally guilty? – “By assuming bad faith on the part of their opponents, and showering them with verbal abuse, fierce partisans foreclose rational debate. That’s why the Democrats call themselves the “resistance,” not the loyal opposition.

The Proposed Emergency Decree to Build The Wall is An Awful Precedent. Dispatches from District 48 – oh so typical … giving advice about anticipations and ignorant of history. There is no ‘precedent’ about doing things that have been done before. “Proposed” means an idea put up for debate and not a thing done. The Coyote is showing his bigotry about Republicans and President Trump. Again. So Sad, especially when he isn’t having to file lawsuits to maintain his occupation.
