Flame of the week

With the contrast between the ‘we are the civil ones’ at the McCain and Franklin funerals to the Kavenaugh hearing riots, the stage is set. Now it’s another effort by the NYT et al to prove that the President is not what anyone can see he really is and therefore sabotage, sedition, and similar behavior is necessary to protect the country, and civilization itself, from the dimwits that voted for Trump in the last election. In their efforts, they make it clear that it isn’t the President who should of concern when it comes to irrational behavior.

The New York Times Anonymous Op-ed Pushes Electoral Sabotage By David Harsanyi – “An attempt to nullify the election isn’t something to celebrate, even if you dislike Trump.”

“The problem with the much-discussed op-ed isn’t only that it fails to offer a single example of officials actually “thwarting” the Trump agenda or saving the republic from his capriciousness. It’s that it celebrates the idea of nullifying an election.

7 points on the anonymous New York Times ‘resistance’ op-ed by Byron York – “The article, quickly denounced by the president, promised to dominate cable news for days.”

“1) It concedes Trump’s accomplishments are big. …
2) Its complaints are small. …
3) It suggests there is a government conspiracy to thwart the president. …
4) A “senior official” could be a lot of people. …
5) Anonymity is good marketing. …
6) It looks like a Woodward tie-in. …
7) We’ll know more soon enough. …

Paul Mirengoff provides another, similar, list in “Senior official in Trump administration” rips Trump in New York Times op-ed – “What the author has served up is neither a scoop nor an extraordinary occurrence.”

What if Trump wrote that NYT op-ed by Don Surber – the idea is that this sort of thing helps Trump, but, still …

“The Washington Post rejoiced. Its story on the story was headlined, “‘The sleeper cells have awoken’: Trump and aides shaken by ‘resistance’ op-ed.”

If true, this is sedition. Encouraging government employees to rise against a duly elected president is irresponsible and unAmerican.

I’ve been ignoring… by neo – “the Kavanaugh hearings. But others have amply covered the various forms of insanity connected with the proceedings.” – cites Powerline and Legal Insurection.
