The endless hazing of summer

George Neumayr: The Endless Hazing of Trump by Sanctimonious Frauds – “The partisan pettiness of their nitpicking is beyond parody.”

The self-appointed ruling class is overflowing with egomaniacs and heartless operators who, oblivious to the irony of their own pouting, decry Trump’s “ego” and question his “heart.” Has America ever had to endure a more insufferable collection of frauds? When not sating themselves at Margaret Sanger award galas and Black Lives Matters powwows, they can be heard lecturing Americans on “racial healing” and a culture without violence.

A host of “conservatives,” who are just me-too liberals looking for pat on the head from the media for their “fairness” and “decency,” jumped at the chance to smear Trump for his supposedly “disgraceful” response to the Charlottesville violence. Beneath all of their virtue-signaling blather lay a demand to Trump born of their own PC-deferring cowardice: unless you say what the self-appointed ruling class wants you to say and say it in the manner they want it said, while not saying what they don’t want you to say, you are a racist. From their hyperactive rantings, one would have thought that his Saturday tweet linked to Mein Kampf. In fact, it was a blameless condemnation of violence and bigotry. But it was troublingly “generic,” the ranters bleated. And how dare he suggest that violence emanates from many “sides.”

Tammy Bruce: The deadly impact of identity politics – “By conflating white supremacists and Trump supporters, the ‘Resistance’ pours hate on hate.”

In the aftermath of the horror of the Charlottesville riot, there’s been less condemnation by the media and the left of the neo-Nazi that is charged with murdering Heather Heyer and injuring at least 19 others than there has been of President Trump.

Instead of addressing our increasingly toxic political and social environment, the answer for the media and the political class was to pour more gas on the fire.

Suddenly, Mr. Trump was responsible for the carnage, and even worse, the Nazis on-site in Charlottesville were his base (we’re told), ergo all Mr. Trump’s supporters are Nazis, too. The intent from the start was to conflate the president and all conservatives with white supremacy and the obscenity in Charlottesville.

The concerted effort by the so-called “Resistance” to further divide this nation is disgusting and dangerous. By singularly focusing on such a craven goal of race hatred and suspicion, and conflating white supremacists with all Trump voters, they not only ignore the real issue of the danger of identity politics, they contribute to it.

Ralph Z. Hallow: Unbalanced moral outrage helps America how, exactly? – “The left, which encompasses just about all the U.S. news media, the Democratic Party, and some Republicans who repeat what the left says, whether given a cracker or not, control the commanding heights in our culture.”

America has never been in greater need of leaders who will cast political cowardice and political correctness to the wind and tell it exactly as it is. One-sided moral outrage will only undermines an increasingly fragile melting pot. Mr. Trump’s second about-face Tuesday showed he’s most comfortable when following his own compass and telling swamp-dwelling advisers to go to hell.

John Hinderaker: Trump Tells The Truth, And The Press Goes Crazy – “Trump said there was blame on both sides. The press went ballistic.”

The AP wants us to believe that Trump’s statements were a disaster. His aides “stood in silence,” John Kelly “crossed his arms and stared down at his shoes,” Sarah Sanders “looked around the room trying to make eye contact with other senior aides.” And “[o]ne young staffer stood with her mouth agape.”

The AP never questions, however, that what Trump said was true. In fact, it was indisputable. … Anyone who has watched videos of the Charlottesville riot knows that Trump’s description is accurate.

This violence is unhelpful to the left-wing cause, so reporters and editors suppress references to it. They were delighted to have an opportunity to report, for a change, on right-wing violence perpetrated by James Fields. And they don’t want truth, or any sort of nuance, to get in the way.

It even infected the Washington Times: The sides of conflict – “A season of cultivated strife flares as a miserable summer wanes.” Interesting. They lambaste the President and then detail why he is right, anyway.

An honest and accurate examination of the “other side” of the struggle over these past few months would not fit the media narrative leading to Charlottesville as a symptom of what ails America in this summer of anger and vexation. The president’s talent for saying things to inflame the public conversation is matched by the leftmost elements of the liberal establishment, backed by the compliant media, to undermine and chip away at the authority of the national government.

The left has been in hot pursuit of racial strife since it made a hero of a petty thief who was killed when he tried to disarm a policeman in Ferguson, Mo., and the left declared war on the police everywhere.

On the other hand, the IBD says The Left Is Doing Exactly What White Nationalists Want – “It wasn’t long ago that Americans were being told repeatedly not to overreact to Islamic terrorism, because that would only serve as a terrorist recruiting tool. That’s worth remembering now, in the wake of the white supremacist attack in Charlottesville, Va.”

Why doesn’t this same logic apply to domestic terrorists of the white nationalist variety?

You wouldn’t know from the wall-to-wall hyperventilating coverage of the Charlottesville protests, but the protest march itself was underwhelming.

Mark Jarrett thinks that Trump gets it – “I listened to President Trump’s remarks yesterday from Trump Tower. Brilliant.”

The violence in Charlottesville, and the tearing down of Robert E. Lee’s statue there, and in Durham has made me angry and unhappy. I, like many Americans and Southerners of my generation, have seen the tremendous progress in racial harmony. I remember the bad old days and do not want to return there but I also do not like attacks on my ancestors.

Trump understands these actions are warm-ups. The progressives are tearing down Confederate statues and they are kicking and spitting on the memorials to the dead because they cannot yet kick and spit on President Trump and his voters. If they could imprison Trump and deport his voters, they would do that, and not worry about statues. They are lashing out where they can.

Progressives want a socialist society cleansed of traditional values. To get power, we, as a country, must reject our heritage of freedom and embrace Marxist values of state control. That is why they fight so hard to control the teaching of history and why they denigrate the ideals and values of the Founders and the pioneers.

J.R. Dunn: Big Plans on the Hard Left for November 4 – “One thing overlooked in the uproar over Charlottesville is that this was, evidently, merely a dress rehearsal for a much larger-scale effort planned for this Autumn.”

The idea seems to be a revival of the 1971 “Days of Rage” – an effort to shut down the country as a whole to force a change in government.

Clearly, the left has failed in the U.S., as they have everywhere else. Their plans have proved empty, their carefully structured systems have ossified to the point of paralysis, their pleas and promises are mere repetitions of rhetoric that was old in the 1930s. They have nothing to offer except violence, hatred, and eventual extinction. But they can still do a lot of damage as they go down the chute, keeping in mind that their descent may involve a process lasting decades.

They seem to be aware of this, and eager to carry out as much havoc as is humanly possible. This is very likely the plan for November 4th.

So circle November 4th on your calendars. On the date, avoid college campuses, federal buildings, and similar sites. Make necessary appointments for some other date. Pay attention to the news to assure that you won’t be inadvertently driving into a madhouse. Avoid wild conspiracy theories and rumors – they don’t help anyone but the agitators. Above all don’t panic. Fear God, dread naught, and keep your powder dry.

Jessica Chasmar: Georgia judge suspended after criticizing anti-Confederate protesters: ‘Leave history alone’ – Here’s what it takes to get a judge in trouble. No, not a gross usurpation of Constitutional authority or inanity in justice but rather a Facebook post criticizing law breakers. For example, consider The John Duarte trial is starting and you should pay attention by Jazz Shaw.
