Plato’s Cave is so comfortable, it seems

When all you see is the master’s shadow show – then there are the prosecutor politicians, the Left’s coup efforts, the corruption of the FBI, criminal insanity – and that doesn’t get into climate change and pandemic panics.

Plato’s Cave 2.0. Thomas Buckley — “his “Allegory of the Cave” would be rather different, as it would have to take into account the idea that not only would people choose to live in the cave, but they would go so far as to build one themselves. — Plato imagined a cave in which people are chained in place and only able to see shadows projected on a wall by their captors.  As they could observe nothing else, the shadows essentially become their reality.”

When Prosecutors Become Politicians. Armstrong Williams — “Prosecutors are effectively taking the law into their own hands in cases such as these, superseding the whims of the legislature that wrote the laws to protect citizens, preventing the courts from delving into the evidence, discovering facts and doing justice, denying the public the right to know the specific types of crime that occur in their city, as well as the names and faces of those who commit those crimes, and denying the public the right to be aware of the specific types of crime that occur in their city and places and activities to avoid. This isn’t justice; it is politics infiltrating what is meant to be an apolitical part of our system of government.”

The FBI’s Criminal Lead Informant in Whitmer ‘Kidnapping’ Caper. Julie Kelly — “The Federal Bureau of Investigation is a morally bankrupt, politically  weaponized agency doing the dirty work of the Democratic Party.” … “It’s only a matter of time before we learn how many Stephen Robesons and Richard Trasks were involved in the events of January 6.”

The Truth You Never Learned about Watergate. John Dale Dunn — “The Nixon Conspiracy:  Watergate and the Plot to Remove the President by Geoff Shepard.” … “I found stunning documentary evidence — memoranda that document the professional and judicial misconduct of the key players, sometimes in their own hand.  Examples abound:” … “When you read this book, you don’t have to be reminded that Watergate looks like dress rehearsal or an opening act for the events of 2015 to 2021.”

Before Kyle Rittenhouse, there was Steven Baca. Michelle Malkin — “Steven’s case matters because the woke, George Soros-funded district attorney leading the witch-hunt prosecution against Steven may soon be New Mexico’s next attorney general if good people do nothing.” … “Steven is banned from Facebook and GoFundMe, but 1,275 donors have joined me in raising $60,000 for his case. You can find the crowdfunding campaign here: https://fundly.com/stand-with-steven-baca. It’s us or the anarchotyrannists. Choose.”

“Pure Insanity”: San Francisco Residents Reflect On Surge In Crime. Jamie Joseph via The Epoch Times, — “While brazen thefts at small businesses and retail stores in San Francisco have increased, drawing national headlines since the beginning of this year, some business owners told The Epoch Times they’ve stopped reporting the crimes because when they call the police, “they can’t do anything.”

The New Climate of Panic Among the Panic-Mongers. Christopher Monckton of Brenchley — “Correcting the error removes Their near certainty of large and dangerous anthropogenic warming. It destroys Their pretext to shut down the West.”

The COVID Narrative Is Insane & Illogical… And Maybe That’s No Accident. Kit Knightly via Off-Guardian.org, — “That is long-established at this point, we don’t really need to go into how or why here. Read our back catalogue.” … “Maybe forcing people to believe your lies, even after you admit you’re lying, is the purest form of power…”

Who Supports Our Service Members? Mark Wauck — “why is no one making an issue of the Covid Regime’s ruthless purge of the military?”

Cruise Ships Exposed COVID Fearmongering Deception In 2020 And Expose Vaccine Efficacy Deception Now.  Adam Dick via The Ron Paul Institute — “Back in March of 2020, when the coronavirus fearmongering from politicians and big money media was taking off, an outbreak of coronavirus and several deaths on the Diamond Princess cruise ship was among the examples used to stir up dread of coronavirus among the American populace. — However, people who looked critically at the Diamond Princess situation realized that it suggested coronavirus did not pose an especially great threat.”

We must make public-health authorities accountable for their COVID lies. Glenn H. Reynolds — “Ever since cases first appeared in Wuhan, the reaction has been marked by mistakes, reversals, outright lying and even political manipulation.” … “It’s time for a rigorous investigation — perhaps a Truth and Reconciliation Commission with subpoena power — to get to the bottom of how our public-health authorities have mismanaged this pandemic. There’s certainly no chance that the existing establishment will do so.”

The Video Message That Resulted in Dr. Robert Malone Banned from Twitter, An Alarming Warning About Vaccinating Children. Sundance — “Dr. Malone has always presented himself as an intelligent and thoughtful man of even & stable disposition.”

“We’re never going to learn about how safe this vaccine is unless we start giving it.” “So, let’s look at the evidence.” Robert W Malone MD, MS

COVID treatment protocols and the death of ‘trust your doctor’. Jeffrey I. Barke — “It is well past time for Americans to wake up and realize that the institutions that we used to trust without question and the professionals that we held in the highest esteem are not what they used to be.  We once again need to take responsibility to do our own research for our personal well-being.  And most of all, we need to put our love of liberty, as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has so aptly put it, ahead of our fear of a germ.”

A failure of grace. Never in history.

VDH describes ‘so little gratitude’. Christian food provisions illustrate the point. The Quadrant has a history lesson. Bureaucracy ruins a doctor’s career. Insanity runs rampant as consequences keep showing their face.

The Ungracious—and Their Demonization of the Past. Victor Davis Hanson — “Never in history has such a mediocre, but self-important and ungracious generation owed so much, and yet expressed so little gratitude to its now dead forebears. … there are lots of logical flaws in attacking prior generations in U.S. history.”

After Spokane Food Program Officials Turn Away Unvaccinated for Christmas Meals – Patriots Step In and Feed Everyone. Eric Thompson — “Dan Bell, who helped organize a food drive and feed the homeless, said he was surprised to see that a Catholic church was involved in turning away the hungry. “As a Christian, if you’re following the teachings of Jesus, you feed the hungry, right? You feed all hungry.”

The Prophetic Shadow of Rome’s Ruin. Mervyn Bendle — “what must be driven home is how precious and vulnerable Civilisation is, and how easily it can be destroyed if its leaders lack resolve and competence and the people prove unable or unwilling to protect a way of life they have been allowed to take for granted.”

God and Ego: Trump vs. Obama. Selwyn Duke — “A “great man knows he is not God,” observed the great and greater G.K. Chesterton — “and the greater he is the better he knows it.”

Do Democrats Want to Build Back Better, or Do They Want a Coup? E. Jeffrey Ludwig — “Through a number of pressure points, the left is trying to overwhelm and subvert constitutional checks and balances, basic ideas of fairness, historical understandings of things like voter rights and equality of opportunity (which is not and should never be equality of outcomes), law and order, the public weal in protecting against theft and bodily harm, and responsible conduct as the sign of a good citizen.”

Kim Potter Conviction: A Blatant Miscarriage of Justice. Andrew Branca — “Prosecution never showed evidence of recklessness and deliberately misled the jury on the law.”

How telemedicine ruined a physician’s career — a personal story bringing to mind Don Quixote

Liberal Judge Rules Ousting Illegal Aliens Who Reenter the Country ‘Racist’ and ‘Unconstitutional’. Mike Miller — “according to The Times, federal courts are facing the ridiculous question of whether the “imbalance” in deportations means U.S. immigration law is… wait for it… racist.”

Renewables’ Reckoning Is Long Overdue. Bob Maistros — “Unfortunately, this correspondent begs to differ. Cratering rationales won’t produce the end of climate hysteria nor renewables, much less a reckoning. … Discredited climate hysteria and renewables are here to stay. Reckonings, not so much.”

Nouns aren’t actable

Chickens find home to roost – rights from God versus human sin – symbols and slogans cur deep – Sharyl needs your help – teachers show the contempt of their ilk.

Sowing Winds and Reaping Whirlwinds. Victor Davis Hanson — “The Left is being consumed by its own hatreds and hubris.” … “there were reasons why Socrates advised “Know thyself,” why the oracle at Delphi emblemized “Nothing too much”—and why you reap what you sow.”

In Strine-Accented Newspeak, Freedom Means Submission. Peter Smith — “Our freedoms to speak freely, to assemble, to travel, to engage in the ordinary business of life are God-given, I’ve written. So they are, but rulers and governments can take them away, as they have throughout most of history. The people of Hong Kong are feeling it now, as are the women in Afghanistan, as did the East Germans before the wall came down, as did dissenters in revolutionary France.”

You’ll never believe the latest evidence of an ‘insurrection’. Andrea Widburg — “On December 24, Biden gave America the gift of self-denunciation.” … “Here’s the prank, which was polite and, to a lot of people, bespeaks frustration with rising inflation, a failed COVID policy, insane energy prices, and (still) the fiasco of Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal”

I honestly don’t know how this madness ends.  The drive-by media will do anything to enshrine the Democrat party in permanent power, and if this means turning anyone who opposes the political agenda into an enemy of the state who must be placed in a gulag like the prison in which the January 6 detainees languish, so be it.  As good little communists, they will do whatever it takes, unconstrained either by moral decency or a little thing called the Constitution.

‘Let’s go, Brandon’ is much more than a cheesy nickname for Biden. Christopher Garbacz — “Why is the slogan so powerful?  Partly, it’s powerful, as noted above, because it’s a reaction to Biden’s “central government gone wild,” with all the inevitable terrible results.  The other reason is that it’s slipped lose from Democrat control over American institutions.  Hollywood, the media, and the political class — all leftist dominated — can’t stop it.”

Sharyl Attkisson needs your help to nail the federal government for spying on her computer. Thomas Lifson — “Her landmark lawsuit against the federal government for spying on her computer entered a new, vitally important, and expensive phase: discovery, in which she can demand and the court can enforce access to documents and other evidence held in the files of the federal government.” … “Pushing forward to identify the culprits and holding them legally liable is an important goal for those who wish the preserve the Republic as founded.” Lifson has a Go-Fund-Me link.

Teacher Mocks Parents as Bigots at School Board Meeting for Objecting to CRT and Adult Content in Books. Mike LaChance — ““These kooks hated reading, the whole reading season./ Please don’t ask why, no one quite knows the reason./ It could be perhaps critical thinking causes fright./ It could be their heads aren’t screwed on just right.” — “Progressives are kicking a hornets’ nest by provoking parents. None of this will be forgotten in the midterms.”

I Woke Lucy. Lou Aguilar [cripppled site – see Instapundit] — “At least Aaron Sorkin isn’t Steven Spielberg.” … “It’s heartbreaking and a little chilling to see members of the artistic community resegregating ourselves,” Sorkin said. “This should be the last place there are walls. Spanish and Cuban are not actable. If I was directing you in a scene and said: ‘It’s cold, you can’t feel your face.’ That’s actable. But if I said: ‘Be Cuban.’ That is not actable. Nouns aren’t actable. Gay and straight aren’t actable. You can act being attracted to someone but can’t act gay or straight. So this notion that only gay actors should play gay characters? That only a Cuban actor should play Desi? Honestly, I think it’s the mother of all empty gestures and a bad idea.” Categorize issues by actable and see where it goes.

Arguing about common sense

What is the role of a proper religion? One clue is in the anti-work movement. Rod Sterling is being called. Myth making gets studied and a Flynn example dissected. The Kulak Class right here in Washington D.C. Trends in awful science ‘journalism.’

The Christian Paradox. Tim Jones — “the loss of Christian spirituality as a result of it being divorced from and given a back seat to the materialism of the modern era has been the disregard of the values that were first exemplified by the life and death of Christ: sacrifice, charity, and obligation. This has led directly to the plague of our time: self-love, greed, and hedonism. It’s time to get back to basics to confront current problems.”

On holiday forever: Anti-work ethic spreads. Joanne Jacobs — “Working less or working differently can make a lot of sense — if you can pay the bills and feed the kids. Not working at all? I did a series on welfare reform 20-odd years ago: Living on welfare is miserable. You’re poor and you’re powerless.” … “The idea that we should be able to live without working is one of the “luxury beliefs” that Rob Henderson and Robert Pondiscio have written about. These are “ideas and opinions that confer status on the rich at very little cost, while taking a toll on the lower class.”

Entering The American Twilight Zone.Patricia Henry — “We didn’t know it then, but on Election Night, November 8, 2020, America entered a Twilight Zone every bit as eerie and unanticipated as anything dreamed up by Rod Serling decades earlier.”

Myth-Making in the Modern Age: A Primer. Roger Kimball — “The myth that January 6 was an insurrection that aimed to “overthrow the government” must not be allowed to stand. The time to counter the Big Lie is now.”

Misinterpreting a federal judge’s ruling denying Michael Flynn’s request for a temporary restraining order on Jan. 6 committee. David Zukerman — “Prior to scanning media treatment of the Scriven ruling, I had read Judge Mary S. Scriven’s opinion on Gen. Flynn’s request for a temporary restraining order (TRO).  The very opening sentence of the Law and Crime take on the Order from Judge Scriven, was so at variance with the reality of her ruling, that I realized I needn’t go further to find that the media has yet to treat Gen. Flynn fairly.”

America’s Kulak Class: Horrific Prison Conditions for January 6 Republicans “Treated as Subhuman” Predicted by Abe Lincoln in 1860. Erik — “It would be too much of a stretch to compare Andersonville (to use another Civil War-era image) to “the DC Gulag”, but still, when you hear how rights are being violated by Democrats or leftists, check out if the portrait of one of the wardens isn’t at least partly reminiscent of the CSA’s Commandant Henry Wirz… “

13 Happenings In 2021 That I Never Would Have Believed 5 Years Ago. Elaanor Bartow — “The world seemed to get closer to spinning out of its orbit in 2021. If you’d told me five years ago that men would be treated as women, criminals would not be prosecuted, and censorship would be widespread, I wouldn’t have believed you.”

4 Awful Science Journalism Trends That Should Die In 2022. Cameron English — “Science journalism is plagued by several critical problems that jeopardize its credibility. If we want the public to be more science-minded, we have to correct these issues sooner rather than later.” … “Since reporters are human and all humans are flawed, sloppy science coverage is inevitable to a certain extent. But the advocacy-as-journalism trend needs to be reversed before science media loses what remains of its dwindling credibility with the general public.” … “Conclusions in search of evidence – Nuance? What’s nuance? - Cheerleaders for censorship – Fair-weather science advocacy”

Ten Considerations Before You Create Another Chart About COVID-19. Amanda Makulec — “To sum it up — #vizresponsibly; which may mean not publishing your visualizations in the public domain at all” … “the stakes are high around how we communicate about this epidemic to the wider public. Visualizations are powerful for communicating information, but can also mislead, misinform, and — in the worst cases — incite panic.”

1. Do more to understand the numbers than just downloading and diving right into a dataset.

4. Be cautious when making generalized predictions or comparisons based on regionally specific data.

5. Visualizations should inform and be honest about what isn’t represented.

9. Consider the human side of what you create.

10. Consider how visualizations can impact (and encourage) social responsibility as we see COVID-19 in our respective communities.

THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION HAS GONE FULL WOKE. Instapundit — “And the result is truly astonishing. Here is how it recommends that doctors speak:” … “While you’re at it, check this one out too:  Organizational Strategic Plan to Embed Racial Justice and Advance Health Equity. – These folks have seriously lost their minds.”

Covid Common Sense [With Comment. Paul] John Hinderaker — “One of the strangest aspects of governments’ responses to covid has been the lack of emphasis on treatment.”

A birth is celebrated but the sins of man persist

KD0TA, sk. Advent. An end and a beginning. Perhaps an awareness is growing and the righteous will stand? And nothing new on this year’s flue shot but it does provide perspective.

Listen While You Read. Mark Wauck — “My Dutch friend sent me an article from the Conejo Guardian, in Ventura County, CA—largely nurses talking about the hospital situation there. That article linked to a previous article on the same topic. Please read, follow the link, read some more, peruse the comments, share … I’ve left out large sections of anecdotes.”

Most shocking, perhaps, is how doctors and administrators refuse to report the rising number of unexplained medical problems in otherwise healthy people …

by spring 2021, “an interesting thing” happened, he says. In the wake of widespread vaccinations, the number of non-COVID patients “really started picking up.”

“Pneumonia cases, stroke cases,” he says. “We’ve had more strokes than normal. Women in particular with venous sinus embolisms. We’re seeing a lot of autoimmune issues: rashes on the body, the body attacking the nervous system, producing symptoms like a weakening of the muscles.” …

Like all the nurses interviewed by the Guardian, he says he is “sick and tired of the coercion.”

A Myth Is Born: How CDC, FDA, & Media Wove A Web Of Ivermectin Lies That Outlives The Truth. Via RESCUE with Michael Capuzzo Substack, — “New Mexico officials admit they were wrong: Two people died from covid. NOT from ivermectin. Yet the CDC generated the nation’s highest health alert and a thousand fake headlines on false cases.”

Flu vaccine may not protect against main flu strain, study says. HealthDay News — “the vaccine is still likely to protect against severe illness and death, according to the U.S. researchers.” … “The flu kills anywhere between 12,000 and 52,000 people a year, depending on the flu season, and puts as many as 700,000 people into the hospital, according to the CDC.”

Put up or shut down. Please.

Ironies abound. Yes, Virginia, there be monsters (but Santa isn’t one of them). Dragonslayers are under assault. Pragmatic and reasonable can be found as jewels in the rough. The insanity doesn’t seem to be selling very well.

Please — stop the coup porn. Victor Davis Hanson — “The three retired generals shrilly write of the dangers of insurrection and coups. Yet the FBI found no such insurrection or conspiracy in the buffoonish riot on January 6. – Only serial media misinformation and lies turned a ragtag band of misfits into an existential threat to the nation. … Ironies abound.”

Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice forbids even retired military officers publicly attacking or disparaging their current commander-in-chief. Yet several retired generals and admirals serially did just that during the last administration, smearing their president in every imaginable way, from being a Mussolini-like fascist to a veritable Nazi. …

To restore the military’s reputation, officers should eschew politics to focus on restoring strategic deterrence and military readiness. They should keep clear of divisive domestic issues. They should stop virtue signaling to the media and influential members of Congress.

Enough, Karl Rove, enough: Put up or shut up. David Zukerman — “ Let his next column in The Wall Street Journal declare, without fear or reservation:  “The Democrats Be Damned; If Trump Is the Candidate, He Gets My Vote.”

Rove should be thankful Mr. Trump has not — and he would have good cause, I believe, to make the allegation — blamed the NeverTrump conspiracy for a) undermining his first term and b) working with the media and, of course, their Deep State Democrat allies, to badmouth the Trump campaign 24/7 with baseless intimations, innuendo, and direct statements.  The NeverTrump “fifth column” in the Republican Party arguably gave the presidency to Benighted Biden with nary a thought how their betrayal would damage national security, foreign policy, economic stability, civil liberties, and immigration issues — not to mention undoing  the good efforts of the Trump administration in starting from scratch to corral the harmful effects of the pandemic, exacerbated by political scoundrels like the former governor of the State of New York.

President Trump Supports Vaccine, Doesn’t Support Mandates. Sundance — “Given the range of opinions on the issue of the vaccines overall, and the mandate specifically, President Trump’s position seems quite pragmatic and reasonable.  He’s proud to have developed the vaccines, believes they are of benefit, but strongly respects individual choice, liberty and the freedom to decide for yourself and your family.  I don’t see anything controversial in this position.”

Biden’s Praetorian Guard? The Ashley Biden Investigation Raises New Questions Over the Use of the FBI. Jonathan Turley — “The question is why tens of thousands of dollars of purses stolen in cities like Chicago are treated as purely local matters while a single missing diary in Florida is a matter of an ongoing federal effort. — As some call for a federal response to the smash-and-grab crime wave, the feds may want to respond as well to questions about its unrelenting focus on who grabbed Ashley Biden’s diary.”

Here There Be Monsters. Alexsandar Markovic — “Evidence suggests there are powerful actors among us whose intentions, capabilities, and disregard for anyone else effectively render them implacable enemies of humanity.  No one sane wants to reach that conclusion; no one rational can avoid it any more in light of the facts.”

The foregoing are monstrous accusations, justified by monstrous acts, committed by people whose amorality and disregard for any but their own interests places them comfortably in the category of “monsters.”  People in ancient Rome, Weimar Germany, the Soviet Union, North Korea, anywhere that totalitarianism has raised its flag, were familiar with the beast.  Now it has arrived in the U.S. and western democracies.  Like it or not, we shall see how it fares there.

Kim Potter Convicted. John Hinderaker – “In recent times, two criminal defendants have had the book thrown at them in Minnesota: Derek Chauvin and Kim Potter. … we will be living with the consequences of these actions for a long time.” … “The rule of law is under attack in many ways, ranging from the burning down of the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd Precinct station to today’s unjust conviction of Kim Potter on charges that never should have been brought. I think we have barely begun to see the results of this assault, in Minnesota or across the country.”

Americans Don’t Buy The Democrats’ Line On Election Integrity .John Hinderaker — “Democrats insist that there was little or no cheating in the 2020 election, and that election integrity measures are not just unnecessary but “racist.” Today’s Rasmussen survey indicates that a substantial majority of Americans don’t buy that line.” … “This is one in a long line of polls showing that Americans understand that voter fraud happens, and don’t like it. There is strong bipartisan support for election security. By rights, this should be a winning issue, and yet the Democrats are closer to making election integrity illegal than the Republicans are to cracking down on cheating. Such is the world we live in.”

Choosing death

FBI Chicanery? Do tell. – Flynn describes outrage. – Manchin worries. – NATO has a flat tire. — Hypotheticals for the hypocrites. – picking cherries WWII style. — DeSantis vs CRT. – Deep state v evidence.

Was the FBI’s Whitmer Chicanery a Warm-up for January 6? Julie Kelly — “By removing three dirty cops from the witness list, the Justice Department hopes to prevent any cross-examination during the trial and, one supposes, any link to January 6.”

A paragraph that puts to shame the January 6 Select Committee of the House of Representatives. David Zukerman — “I believe the words in this paragraph demand the immediate attention of the  United States Congress, the media, and, of course the readers” … “By implication, paragraph 3 of the complaint brought by Lt. General Flynn against Speaker Pelosi and her cohort is tantamount to a call on a free people to rise up, to declare that the Pelosi panel is an affront to the Constitution and the American spirit of liberty, and to demand an  end, forthwith, to the politically- obscene conduct of this committee of the House of Representatives, a committee that offends the Constitution and is an insult to the men who drafted our organic document  of government.”

Manchin shows Biden’s dangerous. Don Surber — “Voters and pundits misread Biden. They thought they were getting a harmless and befuddled old man who would keep the seat warm while the two parties sorted things out Après Trump.”

Biden, Trump, NATO and Ukraine. By F. Charles Parker IV — “The Trump years resulted in a demonstrable U.S. recommitment to NATO, and a strengthened Alliance. NATO capabilities that were not available in 2014 are there. A NATO led by the United States has more options than in 2014. But Putin is testing the viability of that commitment now that Biden is in power.”

Three ‘What Ifs’ We’re Not Supposed to Ask. J.B. Shurk — “Counterfactuals, like “conspiracy theories,” are frowned upon by those who look guilty when they are posed.  Here are three to chew on during the holidays:” … “Some people despise “what if” hypotheticals.  What if those people are the same ones who can’t face the overwhelming evidence for their own hypocrisy?”

Progressive DA Larry Krasner’s office in chaos after 261 attorneys quit during his first term. John Sexton — “Progressive DA Larry Krasner’s response to that spike in violence has been denial.” … “At some point, residents of the city may decide the experiment with progressive prosecutors who cry when they convict someone isn’t working out so well.”

Washington Post Discovers World War II-Era Survey, Cancels the Greatest Generation. Robert Spencer — “It seems that Edward J.K. Gitre, an assistant professor of history at Virginia Tech, stumbled upon 65,000 pages of Army surveys from World War II in the National Archives. Wokescolds have now combed through them and are presenting the very worst of the “harsh views” expressed”

Florida v. Critical Race Theory. Christopher F. Rufo — “Governor Ron DeSantis takes a stand against racialist ideologies in public institutions and businesses.”

Biden Doesn’t Follow The Science, He Cherry Picks It.  Paul Mirengoff — [TDS alert! see if you can spot it] — “Biden’s unwillingness to receive input on vaccinations from those who, under standard procedure, normally provide it could undermine public confidence in the three important decisions cited by Krause and Borio. More generally, it undermines Biden’s claim that his administration “follows the science.” – “Cherry picks the science” would be a more accurate characterization.”

The indefensible approval of Pfizer and Merck drugs compared to the snubbing of ivermectin. Daniel Horowitz — “Can you come up with a non-sinister explanation as to how our government will not only approve, but purchase this untested and dangerous product while declaring war on its broader, safer, cheaper, and more established counterpart?”

Hospitals Choosing Patient Death Over Ivermectin. Joel S. Hirschhorn — “In the past year there have been over 100 court cases trying to get access to IVM for very ill patients, usually for whom hospital doctors say have little chance of surviving.” … “There seems to be inadequate use of the medical evidence given above.”

It isn’t Normal, It’s Psychotic

Geopolitics is worth convern, especially with a woke military. More big corp blaming to evade reality. The Collins crock and big state coup. A how-to for fact checking fact checkers. Paranoia taking over the psyche.

More Geopolitics: Pay Attention To Manchin. Mark Wauck — “Manchin, in addition to the expected references to inflation and “staggering debt”, repeatedly referred to “geopolitical uncertainty” in the world.” …  “Don’t expect to find any sensible discussion of these geopolitical issues in the MSM.” … “What world leader wants to go out on a limb along with a feckless country like we’ve become? - Another concern was noted by none other than Dmitry Medvedev, former president of the Russian Federation.”

Liking a Facebook Post Could Get Service Members Punished Under Pentagon ‘Extremism’ Policy. Spencer Brown — “Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby announced a new “extremism” policy being rolled out by the Pentagon under President Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Monday that the Department of Defense says provides “increased clarity” on what amounts to “extremist activities” or “prohibited activity” by service members.”

Big Grocery? Seriously? John Hinderaker — “This is almost beyond belief. The grocery store business is notoriously competitive and relatively unprofitable.” … “The broader point is that, according to the Democrats, we have suddenly been beset by a plethora of capitalist conspiracies, worthy of Chavez/Maduro Venezuela:”

The Single Most Important Thing We Can Do To Save the Constitution. Huck Davenport — “Even today, the most elementary constitutional lesson is probably still taught: the legislative branch makes the laws, the executive branch enforces the laws, and the judicial branch adjudicates the laws—but today that’s a lie.” … To paraphrase the great Ronald Reagan, “if fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the form of an administrative state.”

The Collins Crock: WSJ Edition. Scott Johnson — “the excellent reported editorial “How Fauci and Collins Shut Down Covid Debate.” This is the heart of it (links omitted):” … “Groupthink is what we got and groupthink is what we have. Heather Mac Donald also demonstrates how it is done in the Spectator essay republished by the New York Post as the column “Omicron coverage reveals how the establishment, media keep us scared.”

Are athletes more are at risk from COVID or vax side-effects? James Stansbury — “The absence of mainstream news about the alleged spike in athlete deaths inspired some personal research.” … “Lorphic News presented information that directly contradicted both PolitiFact’s and Science 2.0’s negative claims.” … “The sample is long enough (20-year history) and large enough (265,000 players and coaches) to indicate something out of the ordinary and widespread.  And the timing of these sudden cardiac deaths (SCDs) correlates with the increased rates of athlete COVID vaccinations.”

Perhaps the best way to summarize the current state of the secular West’s politicization of medicine was written 21 centuries ago by St. Paul in Romans 1: 22: “Professing to be wise, they became fools.”

COVID paranoia highlights the terrible damage leftism does to women. Andrea Widburg — “One of the least pleasant discoveries of the COVID era is how many politicians who once seemed perfectly happy working within democratic systems …  turned out to have inner totalitarians that leaped at the chance to exercise power.  Another unpleasant discovery has been the many people — invariably on the political left — who have abandoned all semblance of normalcy in their efforts to avoid a virus that, for people under 65, has an average mortality rate of less than 1%.  One funny, sad tweet embodies this retreat from normalcy.”

My suspicion about Dana (Not Scully) is that she started out life as an intelligent, high-strung, slightly neurotic, but sane and normal young woman.  Then she went to college, where she was indoctrinated in the hardcore leftism that seems to take a special toll on young White women.  Some of these women manage to shake off the indoctrination once they leave college.  Others never do.  They go through life angry, emotionally fragile, paranoid, and incredibly self-satisfied, so armored in their narcissism that it is impossible to break through to them.

In other words, COVID didn’t make Dana crazy; leftism did — but COVID’s sure doing a good job of showing just how damaging leftism is for women.  It’s all terribly sad.

The Corporate Media Freakout Over The Omicron Variant Isn’t Normal, It’s Psychotic. John Daniel Davidson — “a disturbingly large number of reporters and commentators in the corporate press, whose coverage and individual responses to Covid have become increasingly divorced from that of the rest of America.” … “Imagine being so impervious to reality — to say nothing of science and data, or even just stories about Covid in the news — that you’d still think, in December 2021, that the Covid vaccines could prevent all your loved ones from getting infected.”

Follow the money

The stacking of the military leadership 2012-2016 produces results but the DEI crowd, at least the ‘brown’ part, isn’t buying it. Then the Form 990’s behind the 2020 election are being examined and gold is being foud.

Three Retired Generals Loudly Demand A Military Coup In 2024. Wolf Howling — “he Three utter a sentence I never expected to come out of the mouths of our military leadership: “[T]he military cannot wait for elected officials to act….” That’s a stunning statement from anyone who understands our military history and our Constitution. The single most basic rule of our military is that it is wholly and completely under civilian control. So, what would the Three have the military do unilaterally?”

Why Would Hispanics Drop the Left? Victor Davis Hanson — “The bill for the arrogance and incompetence displayed by leftist elites is now coming due.” … “Obviously, the last 11 months of Democratic rule have been seen as disastrous by all voters, Hispanics included. None of the Biden initiatives on crime, inflation, energy, the border, foreign policy, or race relations are either working or popular. The public, regardless of race, likely feels that most of these crises are not, as alleged by the Left, attributable to the long-gone Donald Trump or COVID-19, but to Joe Biden and the hard Left who seem to have control over him.”

New Tax Returns Further Reveal How Zuckbucks Swayed 2020 Election. Joseph Arlinghaus — “the Chicago-based Center for Tech and Civic Life finally filed its 2020 federal tax return and the list of grant recipients is shocking.”

Conspiracy theories are maybe something solid

The Nevada Independent has been removed from the reading list – it isn’t so ‘independent’ and two other media outlets also bit the dust due to short sighted greed policies  – The archbishop lays it bare on the table – VDH for history ed? – Left and crime – The state of the FBI – The population bomb versus human ingenuity – energy fantasies -

Archbishop Vigano’s startling warning to the American people. Thomas Lifson — “The Archbishop has issued a Christmas letter to the United States that is unusually blunt about what he sees as a conspiracy underlying the handling of COVID.”

a few stand with Christ. Many don’t. COVID and the Catholic Church. Michael C. Hurley — “This young priest made the grave error, as have nearly all of the clergy and Church hierarchy since the beginning of the pandemic, of first assuming that the spiritual mission and heavenly government of the Church must be accommodated to the shifting politics and priorities of the civil government.”

The Dangerous ‘Save Democracy’ Movement, David Catron – “Our election system isn’t in peril, but the Democrats need a pretext to change the rules.” This one at the Spectatorand a Waukusha deviant parade report in a local paper have been censored to the unwashed. They are both warnings.

Roses are Red, Crime is Blue. Brian C. Joondeph — “Vote for Democrats, and you’ll find this true” … “It’s interesting that the media and law enforcement have trouble finding motives or explanations when those might be politically incorrect.” … “hile ABC News is befuddled as to what these 12 cities have in common, Fox News, practicing journalism by asking basic questions of who, what, where, and why, easily found the common denominator. All 12 cities are led by Democrat mayors.”

Victor Davis Hanson and our miseducated youth. Jared Peterson — “So here we are. Two largely ignorant generations of Americans and Europeans are factually and intellectually unequipped to confront the ludicrous falsehoods and calumnies that are presented to them as revealed woke truth; and are entirely ignorant of how the West’s creative genius has been largely responsible for the dramatic elevation of mankind’s condition’s of life during the last 150 years.”

How Did the FBI End Up in This Mess? John Green and Quentin Smith — “It has been involved in everything from the creation of an “insurance policy” against the peaceful transition of power, to the targeting of parents as domestic terrorists for the sin of disagreeing with school boards.  How did our “premier law enforcement agency” stray so far from its motto of fidelity, bravery, and integrity?”

It wasn’t just uncharged Ray Epps leading the Capitol breach. He had helpers. Andrea Widburg — “The House’s Soviet-style January 6 committee continues its unsuccessful efforts to tie Donald Trump, people in his administration, Republican congresspeople, and Fox News personalities to the events on that day. What they’re ignoring as they try to destroy their political enemies is those people caught on tape actively encouraging the crowd to breach the Capitol.” … “This wouldn’t be the first time the FBI has done this.”

How The Green Revolution Saved The World $83 Trillion. Cameron English — “Dr. Norman Borlaug: He Saved A Billion Lives” … “Despite a massive increase in population growth and a shrinking amount of arable farmland, food production absolutely exploded beginning in the middle of the 20th century. We owe that progress to major improvements in agriculture, especially innovations in crop breeding”

Wind vs wind: There can be no honest winner. Peter Smith — “If wind farms compete they will go out of business. It’s as simple as that, meaning the market must be rigged. One way would be to ensure that a single supplier monopolises output in a defined market. Another would see suppliers collude. A third, the most likely, would see government set a floor price or continue providing subsidies to rent-seeking carpetbaggers.”

When you rely on nature for energy, most costs are upfront. When the wind is blowing, the marginal cost of providing a bit more power is close to zero. If wind farms are competing, they will bid the price down in line with marginal cost. And we have the classic perverse case of marginal cost falling below average cost. To those of mathematical bent, that means losses. …

Conservationists versus sleazy rent-seeking carpetbaggers is the future of wind. Internecine struggles to look forward to brighten the gloom of leaders forlornly falling over themselves to ward off Greta Thunberg’s wrath. They should realise that chimeric promises of net zero, clean hydrogen revolutions and wall-to-wall electric cars, blah, blah, blah, won’t do the trick. She who won’t be mollified, won’t be mollified.

Which Country Or U.S. State Will Be The First To Hit The Renewable Energy Wall? Francis Menton — “In the fantasy of wealthy woke environmentalists, the world has recognized that it is on the brink of an existential climate crisis … In the real world, anyone with eyes can see that this is not happening.”

Anthony Fauci, Political Thug. John Hinderaker — “ecently disclosed emails show how political hack Anthony Fauci was enlisted to bully scientific voices on the coronavirus into silence” … “With hindsight, the tens of thousands of medical professionals who signed the Great Barrington Declaration were plainly right, and Fauci and Collins were wrong.”

British Medical Journal on Facebook “fact check” ‘… inaccurate, incompetent and irresponsible’. Anthony Watts — “It it worth repeating and sharing everywhere. It is time to pushback twice as hard. h/t to Willis Eschenbach.”

Omicron Today. Robert W Malone — “five articles that stand out as being among the most important regarding Omicron this week.”

Abp. Viganò’s Christmas 2021 Message. Mark Wauck — “The message is addressed to the American people—and understandably so, since the resistance of Americans to the Covid Regime and the Great Reset is key for the entire world”

Not looking good. Change is needed. Somehow

It’s a scam cancer: the media, the law, medicine, resource management … and wondering where  it will lead but seeing nothing good when looking ahead.

From Media Bias To Outright Partisanship. John Hinderaker — “two stories illustrate how we have gone from liberal media bias in the early years of the 21st century to the open warfare on conservatism that we see today.”

The Rule of Law Has Been Replaced by One Set of Rules for the Left and Another for the Right. streiff  — “This is not right. This is not a sustainable system in any society.”

A game of three-judge-panels is no route to actual justice. Paul C. Binotto — “it’s perhaps not too outrageous to say the federal judiciary has become politically predictable.” … “This hyper-litigated method of governance, where every degree of controversy must necessarily run up to SCOTUS for final resolution is not good for the courts, and it’s a losing game for the Republic.”

The Soviet-style conditions in which January 6 arrestees molder. Andrea Widburg — “Every totalitarian regime has foul prisons in which they confine people who dared to oppose the regime.  Sadly, in the Age of Biden, it turns out that America is not at all different.” … “If we have the political class we deserve, America is a dead country walking.”

Who’s a vigilante anyway? Roger Kimball — “A Washington Post writer thinks that, circa 2021, we do not have enough government in our lives” … “In Democracy in America, Alexis de Tocqueville warned against the advent of “democratic despotism,” which would extinguish liberty not by tyrannizing over men but by infantilizing them.”

We Need a Political Climate Change. Clarice Feldman — “Once again, the crazy greens overrode public needs, along with the bureaucrats of the Biden administration.”

Our political divide is no longer between Democrats and Republicans. Shari Forst — “The general public can boycott certain businesses but, whether the Marxists or conservatives do that, it doesn’t work. Why? Because deep down we want what we want.” … “What they need to learn is that there are no longer Democrats and Republicans in America. Instead, there are vicious Marxist anarchists and the rest of us.”

The COVID Scam: The Progressive Path to Power, and Tyranny. J. Deane  Waldman, M.D. — “Physicians who still practice medicine cannot afford to write or say the following for fear of being canceled.  As a retired physician, I cannot be coerced to keep silent with threats to my medical license or hospital privileges.”

There are jewels in the mud – maybe.

The style of two presidents to compare and contrast, The assault on truth in the TDS efforts, A conspiracy laid bare in the 1/6 melee, Rittenhouse versus ignorance and bigotry in the medical profession.

‘I wish it were a mistake’: Angel mom presents a ‘tale of two presidents’ and brings receipts. Terresa Monroe-Hamilton — “she wrote letters to both former President Trump and to President Biden begging for help with the illicit fentanyl crisis and the difference in reactions from the two leaders is telling.”

The ‘Trump Did Nothing for 187 Minutes on January 6’ Narrative Just Got Shredded. Matt Vespa — “It’s déjà vu all over again. There’s the big bombshell that turns out to be total nonsense—a nothing burger. But even this story comes without the bun.”

Meet Ray Epps, Part 2: Damning New Details Emerge Exposing Massive Web Of Unindicted Operators At The Heart Of January 6. Revolver — “In this report, we will blow open this network of still-unindicted key operators who appear to have been at work either with or around Ray Epps during the initial Capitol grounds breach.” Conspiracy theories? But what about the pictures, the videos, the other evidence put on the table in this lengthy report?

The Kyle Rittenhouse acquittal: a contrasting physician opinion. “I try to present truthful facts about the case. And this is why I will be anonymous. I do not want to be canceled or harassed for espousing an unpopular, politically incorrect position. But the actual facts of the case need to be told.” … ” think this opens up the broader and more important question for all of us physicians: Can we be objective, can we be compassionate toward those who think differently than us, toward those who hold different political beliefs than us,  toward those who vote for a candidate we might despise?”

What’s real? Oaths, mendacious operations, holes in the heart,

America’s Real Authoritarians. I & I Editorial Board — “How have we arrived at a place in our history in which the party that wants to limit government, embrace free markets, deregulate, and let people keep more of their hard-earned money is authoritarian, and the party that wants to force conformity, censor speech, eliminate all political challenges by establishing a single-party state that it controls, and make us all wards of the state is not?”

The answer is clear: The Big Lie has enabled the left’s ability to project its worst traits on the right.

Which is all the more interesting because the left side of the political aisle, in another ugly example of its projection, actually believes it is anti-fascist, and accuses anyone who even mildly questions the results of the 2020 presidential election as a super-spreader of the Big Lie. No group is more in need of self-examination, and maybe some professional help, than America’s angry left.

Does a Law Enforcement Oath Mean Anything Anymore? John Green — “Certainly, following lawful orders is important, but notice that there is nothing mentioned about obedience to leadership.  That’s because following orders is between the officers and their leaders.  Upholding their oath is between them and us, the American people.  We expect them to make judgements about right and wrong, and the oath is their assurance that they will do so conscientiously.” This is where the Vice President failed on January 6, despite asserting he ‘did the right thing.’

Far too many law-enforcement officers, FBI agents included, have demonstrated that they are no longer agents of the Constitution.  At best, they’re just employees doing as told.  Their oath has become an irrelevant formality.

Mark Meadows Lawsuit: Subpoenas Invalid Because Pelosi Constituted Select Committee In Violation of House Authorizing Resolution. William A. Jacobson – “Speaker Pelosi failed to appoint members consistent with the authorizing resolution of the Select Committee… Thus, the Select Committee as it currently stands—and stood at the time it issued the subpoenas in question—has no authority to conduct business because it is not a duly constituted Select Committee. Chairman Thompson’s subpoenas are invalid and unenforceable.”

Liz Cheney’s Jan. 6 committee: What kind of mendacious operation is this? Monica Showalter — “The committee is proving itself amazingly dishonest in its ambitions to Get Trump. Now it’s becoming a pattern.” … “What we see here is dishonesty after dishonesty coming from this committee”

The Hole in the Heart of RFK Jr.’s Extraordinary Book. Jack Cashill — “It was put there by pro-abortion Democrats, including his own family.” … “his brutal smackdown of the Dr. Anthony Fauci–Bill Gates vaccine oligarchy, The Real Anthony Fauci, is arguably the century’s most important book, and a page-turner on top of that. Buy it. Read it. If you choose not to, avoid holiday arguments with anyone who has. You will lose.”

The O’Keefe Project: The Times Strikes Again. Scott Johnson — “The FBI conducted these raids in the style to which we became accustomed in the case of Roger Stone and appears to have followed them up with leaks to its friends at the New York Times.”

Right Responds To Cancel Culture By Building Its Own Infrastructure, And The Left Goes Nuts. Margot Cleveland — “We can’t have people free to bank, communicate, work, report and read news, and more without the threat of losing their livelihoods. How will leftists control everyone then?”

What You Must Believe as an American in 2021. J.B. Shurk — “As far as I can tell, this is what we are now supposed to believe as Americans, in this first year of the Glorious Deep State’s Blessed and Eternal Reign: ”

How can this be in the U.S.A.? (Citizens yawn)

A Visit to the DC Gulag. George Parry — “This is how totalitarianism looks: The plight of America’s January 6 prisoners in pre-trial detention.”

Looks Like Dissent Is No Longer The Highest Form Of Patriotism. I & I Editorial Board — “let’s see if we can understand this line of reasoning.”

The press spent four years debasing itself with wildly misreported anti-Trump stories that then forced some outlets to issue an endless number of embarrassing corrections. They did this expressly because they wanted to subvert the will of the people and drive Trump from office. That was called protecting democracy.

Now they say that, should reporters honestly report the facts about the border crisis, the supply chain crisis, spiraling inflation, the Afghanistan debacle, the endless COVID mandates, increased Chinese and Russian aggression – to say nothing of the fact that Biden is responsible for all of them – those reporters are posing a deadly threat to democracy, because by doing so they are driving down Biden’s popularity.

During January 6 Hearing, Schiff Doctored Text Messages Between Mark Meadows And Rep. Jim Jordan. Sean Davis — “Democrat Adam Schiff doctored text messages between Mark Meadows and Jim Jordan during Monday’s Jan. 6 hearings, an investigation by The Federalist shows.” … “Schiff and his team have a long history of doctoring and fabricating evidence to show their political enemies in the worst possible light.”

DC Bar Restores Convicted FBI Russiagate Forger to ‘Good Standing’ Amid Irregularities and Leniency. Paul Sperry — “A former senior FBI lawyer who falsified a surveillance document in the Trump-Russia investigation has been restored as a member in “good standing” by the District of Columbia Bar Association even though he has yet to finish serving out his probation as a convicted felon” … “The D.C. Bar’s treatment of Clinesmith, a registered Democrat who sent anti-Trump rants to FBI colleagues after the Republican was elected, has raised questions from the start.”

The ABC’s reign of error – Part II. Geoffrey Luck — “Complain about a nakedly biased report — in this instance the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse — and the ABC’s complaints unit will invest considerable effort in explaining why black is white, up is down and why a foreign correspondent’s editorialising is actually straight-bat reporting.”

A Critical Gap in Tornado Warning Technology: Lessons of the Recent Tornado Outbreak. Cliff Mass — “My colleagues at the National Weather Service (NWS), both at the Storm Prediction Center and the local NWS forecast offices (such as Paducah, Kentucky) did an excellent job in predicting the threat and provided timely watches and warnings before the tornadoes struck.” … “I will review the forecasts/warnings and suggest that new smartphone-based warning systems are both needed and possible.  Technology that could save many lives from such severe storms.”

This whole thing is just wrong.

Note a free course at Hillsdale Collge: The decline of American citizenship

The class describes the origins and history of citizenship in the West, reminding us that it is a rare phenomenon both in the past and the present—given the enormous responsibility placed on citizens to create and control their own government.

Citizenship then requires a large and self-reliant middle class—currently shrinking under enormous economic strains. Clearly defined and enforced borders are also essential to ensure a civic space in which citizens can nurture common customs, sustain traditions, and honor their own shared past.

Yet borders are now increasingly fluid as mere residence and citizenship seem often indistinguishable. Pre-civilizational tribalism—identifying by superficial appearance rather than through shared culture and values—is returning to America as so often the salad bowl replaces the melting pot.

These organic, bottom-up challenges are often matched by top-down stresses such as the growth of a huge permanent, but unelected, government of bureaucrats and administrators who combine judicial, executive, and legislative powers that overwhelm the citizen.

In addition, revisionists in law, the media, and politics seek to change the Constitution, long-held customs of governance, and political traditions for short-term partisan agendas, on the theory that a new changing and fluid Constitution must match an always evolving human nature.

Globalism is an ancient challenge to the sovereignty of the nation-state. But in the age of instant communications and unprecedented concentrations of globalized wealth, so often elites seek to supplant American laws and independence with international organizations and often without the consent of the legislative branch or the assent of the governed.

The course ends, however, on an optimistic note that citizens still have it within their power to restore our traditions of empowered citizenship and return government to the control of citizens.

“American Citizenship and Its Decline” is free to enroll in, and you can begin the course today by clicking on the secure link.

Best wishes, Victor Davis Hanson. Wayne & Marcia Buske Distinguished Fellow in History. Hillsdale College

‘Capitol Punishment’ The Movie. Jennifer Oliver O’Connell  — “This important documentary delves into the events of January 6, 2021—not the events that have been regurgitated ad infinitum by the legacy media, but the actual facts on the ground and how the people on the ground have been affected. The millions who showed up peacefully, and left the same way. The singing and the prayers. The different races, cultures, and religious backgrounds coming together with a unified purpose—not to overthrow the government, but to let the government know that they answer to We The People.”

A look back: on desperately wanting to elect Joe Biden. neo — “the idea of a figurehead president was fully envisioned and fully accepted, right around the time that Biden was finally seeming to be the nomination frontrunner. Nothing more was necessary; certainly not that certain something known as “leadership.” It was okay that Biden do nothing and be unable to do anything competently. The idea was apparently that (a) getting rid of Trump at the helm would magically solve all problems; and (b) the country could just about run itself after that, as long as Democrats were in control. – That’s not just hubris, that’s hubris squared.”

Conservatives: You also have FIRST Amendment right not to testify! Seth Grossman — “We also have rights to seek out others, and communicate, associate, and organize with them to promote our ideas.  Those rights are infringed if the government forces us to disclose who they are, or our private conversations and communications with them.  This is especially true when we and our ideas are routinely distorted and demonized by an evil and biased media.”

The Big Lie that Republicans threaten democracy. David Zukerman — “Republicans, nay the American people, should have learned by now: where the Democrats prevail, free speech, dissent, the essentials of liberty, dies.”

The left’s resistance to Ivermectin is shameful. Andrea Widburg — “One of the main barriers to Ivermectin is that hospitals refuse to give it to patients, preferring to see them die rather than take a commonly used, safe, Nobel-prize winning drug that could save their lives.”

look at what actually happened

Another media malf: Byron York’s Daily Memo — “But look at what actually happened. (Here I should say that I am a Fox News contributor and have been a friend of Ingraham’s for years.) This is what Ingraham texted to Meadows: “Mark, the President needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home. This is hurting all of us. He is destroying his legacy.”” … “The bottom line is there is much less to the texts story than the critics would have you believe.”

Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th Select Committee Hoax. Melissa McKenzie — “Once again, the regime persecutes enemies to cover for its own evils.” … “The January 6th Committee is attempting to find evidence for their Conspiracy Theory that all of the above was planned by Donald Trump, some Republican Congressmen, some Trump officials and #StoptheSteal activists. - Many logical inconsistencies exist:”

Cracked Icons. Victor Davis Hanson — “The corrupt and mediocre heroes of the Left are imploding.” … “Our media-deified, progressive icons are finally being exposed as the deceivers they always were.”

An Anti-Anti-Racism Manifesto. Ace of Spades — “Anti-racism is a Kafka trap, wrapped in a motte-and-bailey diversion, slathered in revenge porn with a side order of grift. - Looking at all of human existence through the lens of race is as stupid as looking at all of human existence through the lens of class. - Injecting marxism into racial reconciliation can only produce discord, division, and disunion. Marxism just makes it worse, as it does all things. - Intentionally making little kids feel guilty about their skin color is counterproductive. – -If Black lives matter, then Black racism matters.”

The Whitewashing of Black Crime. Rick Fuentes — “Selectively reporting or downright ignoring crime based upon race is a dangerous gambit in the hands of a partisan media with a political ax to grind.” … “Expect no mea culpa over the biased reporting of the Waukesha parade massacre, the Rittenhouse shootings, serial mob robberies, and racially-scrubbed city murder statistics, all necessary to advance the liberal canard on white fragility, supremacy, and systemic racism.”

How Do You Win? Never Back Down. Never Apologize. Never Explain. Ace of Spades — “How Do You Lose? Back Down. Apologize. Explain. - The vicious, partisan, mendacious left has been merrily destroying its political opponents for years using the same simple playbook. And it is a testament to the stupidity and lack of real-world perspective on the part of its enemies that the techniques still work.”

Renewable? Sustainable? Dissecting Green Buzzwords. Will Coggin — “Terms like renewable, plant-based, and biodegradable can mean a product is good for the environment, but it doesn’t guarantee that it is. Similarly, it is not always true that an alternative to a product deemed “bad” by environmentalists is always going to be better for the planet. Many of these alternatives carry unintended consequences that cause as much harm to the planet, if not more.  - The phrase “caveat emptor,” or buyer beware, has been around since the early 1600s. It’s still sage advice in 2021.”

Yellow rain

Another week starts at the American Thinker. Here’s a sample:

They Hate Us, They Really Hate Us. Clarice Feldman — “I recognize that we all make mistakes now and then, but the story Smollett peddled was so preposterous, only a moron could credibly claim he believed it.” … “Here are some of their statements when the preposterous tale was spun. Read this and tell me I’m wrong.”

Don’t gaslight me on my leg and tell me it’s raining. Bill Hansmann — “unless those lies are uttered under oath or spoken as truth to federal law enforcement agencies, there is no penalty for intentionally misleading the American public.” … “While gaslighting fittingly defines what is happening in our fallacious media and the utterances of a high percentage of Democrat politicians, there is an old expression that sums it up even better: “Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining.”  Perhaps their obsession with the nonsense of climate change has made the left unable to recognize the color of the precipitation, but you won’t fool me with yellow rain.”

Decades of Communist Pushing Will Get You a Communist America. E. Jeffrey Ludwig — “What today’s political pundits are calling woke (or some form of communism) has been on the march for decades.  It was alive and well in the late 1990s and had already been in place for decades.  It has gone mainstream in recent years and openly is embraced by many who were more careful not to be seen as sympathetic to Marxist ideology.  It is anti-God at its core, and it clearly wants government to take over the means of production.  The radical hope is to dignify the move toward undermining our republic, natural rights, private property, and the family by painting the words “anti-racism” and “gender equality” on the hammer and sickle.  Then talk about electric cars and reducing carbon footprints, and hope the fear generated will change our society forever.”

Democrats are terrified that ordinary Americans are calling them out. Andrea Widburg — “democracy in America is over because Americans don’t believe that Biden honestly won his seat in the White House.  The hyperbole was thick in the air, along with more than a soupçon of hypocrisy and a huge dollop of fear.”

Here’s a few other comments of note.

Do you approve of Joe Biden? Save America JFC — this is at a tech news site but the problem of civil rights of the accused is hard to find even in the comments. Ignorance and denial of the actual events of January 6 is also rampant.

What We Should Have Learned From this Epidemic, but Probably Won’t. Kevin Roche — “After any great event in human history, we should attempt to step back and evaluate what the dimensions of the problem actually were and how effective our responses were, always mindful of human thinking process biases.” … “I also am keenly aware of human limitations and our clear inability to learn from the past when it comes to large-scale problems and issues, so I have no hope that the next epidemic will be handled better.  Politicians will make the same stupid mistakes, think they need to assert their power and do something, anything, no matter what the consequences, and will ignore the damage their actions will cause.”

It’s inconceivable it could happen here

January 6 Police Beating Victim Speaks: ‘I Could Have Died’. Julie Kelly — “The first of a two-part interview with Victoria White, a Trump supporter who was beaten by police inside the tunnel on the lower west terrace of the Capitol building on January 6.”

Two positive developments pertaining to January 6.  David Zukerman — “Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has published a report on her visit to the D.C. jail, with Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-Texas) on November 4.” … “The Meadows complaint alleges that the subpoenas issued against him, and Verizon, his cell phone carrier, are invalid because Pelosi violated the terms of House Resolution 503, which provided, among other things, that the minority members would be appointed in consultation with the minority leader.”

Another Lawsuit Holds The Key To Trump’s Best Defense Against The Jan. 6 Committee. Margot Cleveland — “Because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi failed to appoint the requisite number of members, the Jan. 6 committee is arguably invalid under its own authorizing resolution.” … “Once in focus, one can see there is a strong interest in preserving executive privilege, and none in pushing a partisan dog and donkey show trial.”

The Way Out. Larry P. Arnn — “Here are two questions pertinent to our times: (1) How would you reduce the greatest free republic in history to despotism in a short time? and (2) How would you stop that from happening? The answer to the first question has been provided in these last two disastrous years. The answer to the second has begun to emerge in recent months. Both are worthy of study.”

The Turn. Liel Leibovitz — “When I saw the left give up everything I believe in, I changed politically. You can, too.” … “If you’ve lived through it yourself, you know that The Turn doesn’t happen overnight, that it isn’t easily distilled into one dramatic breakdown moment, that it happens hazily and over time—first a twitch, then a few more, stretching into a gnawing discomfort and then, eventually, a sense of panic.”

Straight Shooters. Steve Sailer — “In “Mass Murder in America: Trends, Characteristics, Explanations, and Policy Response” in Homicide Studies, James Alan Fox and Jack Levin analyze all 448 mass murders from 2006 to 2020 and dispel some of the stereotypes that have clouded thinking upon these gruesome subjects.” … “Fox and Levin aren’t confident that gun control measures could do much to stop mass murder:”

5 Biggest Takeaways From The Latest Review Of Wisconsin’s Rigged 2020 Election. Kylee Zempel — “Wisconsin is a case study in the kind of ho-hum execution of elections that chips away at Americans’ confidence in our elections.”

What Black Lives Matter has to say about the Smollet case. neo — “I wonder how many people who say they support BLM are aware of the sort of position taken by one the organization’s LA founders.”

The ‘cabal’ that bragged of foisting Joe Biden on us must answer for his failed presidency. Glenn H. Reynolds — “Time calls this a “conspiracy to save the election,” but in truth it was a conspiracy to save the election for the Democrats. The consequences in terms of lost faith in democracy have been severe, but the worst effect is that the winning ticket was never seriously vetted by the media or the campaign process.”

The Left’s Coup Is the Overthrow of Truth. Laura Hollis — “See how this works? When Democrats game the system or cheat, it’s “saving democracy.” But when Republicans and conservatives vote in large numbers and pass laws to protect the integrity of the system, it’s a “coup.” – Propaganda this baldfaced would be laughable were it not so dangerous.”

Jussie Smollett’s Race Hoax Joins a List of HUNDREDS of Other Fake ‘Hate Crimes.’ Here Are Just 8… Victoria Taft — “There are so many fake hate crimes that several databases have been launched to keep track of them.” … “the thing you realize very quickly is that fake hate crimes occur in the wokest of woke places, such as high schools and colleges. It makes you wonder if maybe we should simply shut down the hate factories to stop the children from being scandalized by crimes they never even imagined before until someone made them up.”

Stunning: Facebook court filing admits ‘fact checks’ are just a matter of opinion. Thomas Lifson — “Meta’s attorneys assert that the “fact check” was an “opinion,” not an actual check of facts and declaration of facts.  Under libel law, opinions are protected from liability for libel.” … “So-called “fact-checking” is a fraud used to cover up the censorship of opinions that differ from those of the powerful Silicon Valley oligarchy.”

The Garland Archipelago

Who is the autocratic president, again, overstepping his authority? Jack Hellner — “For four years, as Trump was transferring freedom and power back to the people as fast as possible, the media described Trump as a dictator and an autocrat to intentionally mislead the public. - As Biden rules by executive orders and mandates, the media pretend he is not autocratic.”

Why The Russiagate Scandal Outranks Every Other In History. realclearwire — “Nothing comes close in size, scope or harm to the republic than the years-long effort to cripple Donald Trump’s presidency” … “If truth and justice don’t matter, what does?”

Are Media Now Taking Orders Straight From The White House? I & I Editorial Board — “The media are of course willing to be used. After all, President Joe Biden’s administration is the furthest left in our nation’s history in the scope and content of its policies.”

The idea of the media strategizing with the government to tell the public lies or slant the news is sickening, a voluntary relinquishing of their First Amendment rights. It’s also a betrayal of their obligations to their readers, who expect the truth from journalists, not biased spin.

How Obama Sabotaged the American Military. Daniel Greenfield — “Obama fundamentally transformed the military the way that he did the country.” … “Obama’s parting shot at the military cut the generals down to size by transforming them into community organizers. - His order redefined diversity as the military’s “greatest asset” and reinvented national security as a system for maximizing employment diversity by race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and every identity politics metric, but not the military metrics that truly mattered, readiness, competence, and a willingness to wage war in defense of the homeland.”

There’s an unspoken reason that Blacks are attacking Asian people. Andrea Widburg — “Blacks have for decades competed with Asians for resources in poor neighborhoods. … there’s another reason that few people like to talk about: Asians go from ghetto to suburbs in one generation and, often, from suburbs to chi-chi upper-class communities in just one or two generations.  If you think about the fact that Asians came to America broke, speaking no English, and often facing substantial prejudice, their success puts the lie to Black claims that there’s no way Blacks can achieve success in a country as racist as America.”

An open letter on the U.S. math education. Lubos Motl — “the letter is too little, too late (at least 15 years too late, I think).” … “it looks to me as if 911 people realize that things are going to deteriorate further and really quickly and they want to have a slightly better conscience, the ability to say “we tried to stop it”. Maybe but you tried about 1000 times less than you should have, and you have done much more in your life to accelerate the destruction. So if I were a member of a committee deciding whether you go to Heaven or Hell, this letter would have a very little chance to change the “Hell” verdict. But good luck.”
