Letting us down, “will you shut up, man?”

Scientific American Endorses Biden and Risks Losing Whatever Readership It Has Left. Alex Berezow – “Scientific American, a once preeminent magazine that thoughtful and curious people read (or at least respected), has become an outlet for pseudoscience and politics. What a shame.” True enough but even Berezow joins in what he decries with generic, baseless TDS. Sci-Am is just an extreme case of politicizing science. Sadly, ACHS has joined in on that parade, too.

American Sports Are Letting Down America. Jason Whitlock – “”

“Of the many phrases and concepts Merton coined—including “self-fulfilling prophecy” and “unintended consequences”—“role model” has had the most impact. On the surface, the argument that young people tend to model their behavior after high-profile, successful adults is harmless. However, in retrospect, the elevation of athletes and other celebrities as primary figures in the formation of behavioral norms for young people helped create the conditions that are powering the destructive Black Lives Matter movement today.

Merton’s role model concept undercuts the importance of parents and nuclear families. That was the point of Barkley’s criticism.
…
But while American sports have never been more influential, they’ve also never been more vulnerable to foreign influence. Their partnership with global brands and their desire to build global audiences have given foreign countries a pathway to manipulate American sports and culture.
…
The entire American sports world—a culture that traditionally celebrates victors, meritocracy, colorblindness, and patriotism—has suddenly immersed itself in black victimization and left-wing radicalism. This immersion threatens to do permanent damage to American culture as a whole.

Chris Wallace Just Gave The Most Embarrassing Moderator Performance In History. Kylee Zempel – ‘Well, first of all, I guess I’m debating you, not him,’ Trump said to Chris Wallace during Tuesday’s 2020 presidential debate. Fact check: True.” … “Media moderators playing favorites with presidential contenders is nothing new, but Wallace’s persistent partisanship reached a new low.” see also Patricia McCarthy: The debate? Trump was great, Chris Wallace was a dreadful disgrace.

Two crucial things emerged from the first presidential debate. Andrea Widburg –“The short version of the debate is that Biden did well if one ignored that almost every other statement he made was a lie or fantasy” see also Roger Kimball: The debate was no disaster for Biden — but Trump won – “For his part, Joe Biden told a lot of fibs.”.

Trump-Biden I: Reality Is Reality. Bob Maistros – “Perception is not reality. Reality is reality. You just have to make sure people know about it.” … “Wallace let Biden get away not only with disrespect for the office of president and the conventions of political debate, but also with an approach of slipping, sliding, prevaricating and outright running from his record and his party’s positions” … “That’s the reality of Tuesday’s debate, and the president and his team need to get to work getting public “perception” aligned with it.” But then consider this headline at Slate – Words Voters Used to Describe Trump’s Debate Performance: “Crackhead,” “Un-American,” “Unhinged”.perceptions rule and projection and confirmation bias reign supreme for many. On the other hand is Jazz Shaw: Biden told so many whoppers last night, Burger King may sue him.

Dismiss the case of Michael Flynn. Jonathan Turley – “When Michael Flynn heads to court for his final sentencing hearing today, a lifetime of respected national service will hang in the balance on what is said and done. I am not talking about Flynn but of Judge Emmet Sullivan.” … “The law on this is clear and overwhelming. Sullivan should have dismissed the charge months ago. Instead, he again took a controversial position.”

This is how they do it

Media Gunning For Scott Atlas Because He Keeps Exposing Coronavirus Lies. Joy Pullmann – “’Everything he says is false,’ NBC News quoted CDC Director Robert Redfield as saying of Atlas. That’s just not true, top epidemiologists told The Federalist.”

“In an interview, Atlas said the constant media characterization of President Trump’s coronavirus response as detached from scientific expertise is “completely false.” He said the president’s policies are informed by infectious disease experts from the world’s top medical and research institutions, including Bhattacharya and John Ioannidis of Stanford University Medical Center, Martin Kulldorff and Katherine Yih of Harvard Medical School, and Sunetra Gupta and Carl Heneghan of Oxford University.

“The extreme comments that have been reported are an attempt to delegitimize me and undermine the president of the United States,” Atlas said, not a dispassionate, science-based position. “There can be different opinions about scientific evidence, but to say I’m citing false information is a lie,” he said later.
…
It’s well-known within the field that public health is not only about “following the science.” It’s about managing the citizenry into what public health officials think are beneficial outcomes.

Citing New Scientific Evidence, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Ends His State’s Lockdown. Karl Dierenbach – “A COVID-19 response roundtable led by Gov. Ron DeSantis and featuring distinguished experts calmed fears over lifting COVID-19 restrictions in Florida.” … “It is a bold move by DeSantis that bodes well not only for Florida but for the country.”

“N-Word Science” Proves You’re a Racist! David Cole – “With summer 2020 finally in the rearview mirror, and after seven months of “two weeks to flatten the curve,” I’m getting a little sick of “the science.” Not science, mind you, but theee science, the thing that leftists keep assuring us exists—a singular, canonical truth we all must obey.” … “the obvious question that any rational person would ask is, how did these “scientists” arrive at their conclusion?”

Media’s Wuhan Lies Lengthen, Deepen. Trevor Thomas – “So, as of just days ago, with over 48,000 reported Wuhan virus cases at 37 different U.S. universities, there have been only two hospitalizations and zero deaths!” … “ugly fraud has been perpetuated numerous times across the U.S. by the media, politicians, school administrators, business executives, and medical personnel alike. Enough is enough! These Wuhan virus lies are disrupting and destroying lives and livelihoods. It’s long past time to end the lies and open the country!”

Coronavirus in one state (105). Scott Johnson – “We are lost in a fog conveyed by the authorities and spread by the media. They have made it virtually impossible to understand the nature of the risks posed by COVID-19 to ordinary Minnesotans. Apart from the aged and the infirm, or the infirm aged, the epidemic poses a low-risk health hazard that cannot properly serve as the predicate of one-man rule.”

Memo to Democrats: Don’t talk to us about Trump’s taxes while trying to raise ours. Monica Showalter – “How’s this for hypocrisy?” … “Which is disgusting stuff, given that Trump cut our taxes, while they’re plotting to make us pay more in taxes. Hey, suckers! Look over there at Trump’s taxes, so that you don’t notice what we’ve got planned for you.”

People are misreading the New York Times’ article about Trump’s taxes. Andrea Widburg – “an astute Twitter user noted something that others missed: While the Times wrote the report to imply that Trump paid only $750 in taxes for several years, a careful reading reveals that Trump did pay millions in taxes, plus an additional $750.”

“On Sunday, the New York Times published a lengthy article based on Donald Trump’s personal and business taxes. It bears repeating here that this was grossly illegal conduct on the part of the person who gave the Times these taxes and, quite possibly on the part of the Times itself which, at the very least, aided and abetted a felony.
…
Let’s repeat the bottom line: Trump did what the law allowed. Trump did not have dealings with the Russians. Trump did not pay only $750 in taxes in 2016 and 2017 but, instead, paid millions in taxes. And one more thing: Biden, who sat in the Senate for over thirty years, was almost certainly involved in crafting and voting for the laws that enabled Trump to structure his taxes as he did. If people think Trump paid too little, they need to blame Biden.

More On Trump’s Taxes. John Hinderaker – “Steve beat me to this, I see, but here are a few additional comments on the New York Times’s felony du jour. Well, to be fair, they just aided and abetted the felony. Maybe someday that will be illegal.” … “I believe it was Donald Trump who once said that the two places where you don’t try to save money are helicopter pilots and accountants. That is especially true if you are a real estate developer.”

Vote By Mail Chaos: New York City Sends Wrong Name Absentee Return Envelopes to Voters Across Brooklyn-Mistake Could Void Thousands of Votes. Kristinn Taylor – “”

Minneapolis police probing alleged ballot harvesting plot helping Rep. Omar. Lee Brown – “The probe surrounds a video posted by Project Veritas late Sunday, in which Liban Mohamed, the brother of Minneapolis City Council member Jamal Osman, is shown with ballots filling his car’s dashboard.”

Tens of Thousands of Christians Converged on DC and Trashed the City. Michael Brown – “Did you hear about the large Christian gatherings in Washington, DC this weekend? Did you see the news reports about the mayhem? The looting? The vandalism? The calls to “Burn it down!”? Did you hear the speakers calling for acts of violence and destruction?” … “In fact, at The Return, where I participated on Saturday, there was hardly any police presence at all. It was not needed. I didn’t even see any counter-protesters..”

“That’s why these gatherings in DC, with minimal press coverage and without the drama of the protests and the riots, could well be the thing that saves the nation. And while the media may not have paid sufficient attention, we trust that God Himself did. That is what really matters.

Jim Caviezel tries to arm Christians for the coming battles in America. Andrea Widburg – “When Hollywood actors open their mouths, we’re used to hearing overwrought, vapid attacks on conservatives and, especially, against Donald Trump.” … “If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually, we will have to face the final demand, the final ultimatum — and what then?”

The Diversity Delusion. James Lindsay – “We’re being lied to, and it’s been costing us a fortune, both economically and socially.” … “First, it sounds good and so plays on our best instincts, which is genuinely an evil thing to do to people. … Second, and more to an actionable point, the Theory from which DIE originates manipulates the language we use so that we sign up for what it’s selling while we think we’re buying something else.”

Arguing With a Democrat: A Sign of the Times. Stu Cvrk – “However, that one-liner served as the equivalent of a red flag to a bull, and I responded as follows:”

The Progressive Medusa. Victor Davis Hanson – “The hard Left believes its mission is so critical, so morally superior, that all means can be justified to achieve its noble ends. And so almost every institution that the Left has in its line of vision is now petrifying.”

Dark Money. But it’s not Trump. And the rest of the story

The Left Hates Amy Coney Barrett Because She Disproves All Their Lies About Women. Joy Pullmann – “Here is a rundown of just some of the left’s lies about women that Barrett’s achievements undermine.”

Why Americans Need To Rediscover The Founders’ View Of Equality. Robert Curry – “Today, an ever-expanding notion of inequality dominates public discourse.” … “This focus on inequality is part of the assault on the American idea that we see every day in the media and in academia.”

“For the American Founders, we are all equal in that we all possess unalienable rights equally; these two truths are, at heart, one truth. This way of relating our equality and our unalienable rights provides a precise definition of the Founders’ idea of equality. Endowed equally with unalienable rights by our Creator, we are created equal.

Donald Trump Paid Zero Taxes? Good for Him. Bob Maistros – “Uh huh. Shocking charges made against The Donald based on thinly sourced or withheld information? Where have we heard that one before?” Guilt shaming by innuendo … why do people sink so low as to engage in such behavior or to follow it?

The Times is proud that it released Trump’s tax returns, but it shouldn’t be. Andrea Widburg – “The self-congratulations are premature. The Times’ article reveals that Trump was telling the truth all along about his audit.” … “For years, Trump rebuffed demands that he produce his tax returns by saying that the IRS is auditing him, and he will not produce the returns while the audit is ongoing. The article confirms that” Again. The only illegality or impropriety here is the leak of the tax returns.

“The Times’ intrepid reporters are not interested in the fact that Joe Biden used his political connections to enrich his family, especially Hunter. They don’t write that (to date) there is unrefuted evidence that Biden blocked the new Ukrainian government’s efforts to root out corruption by withholding American money until Ukraine stopped investigating a corporation that paid Hunter for doing nothing. You’d think that a major news outlet would find that intriguing a story involving political corruption and foreign meddling, but the Times has given it a hard pass.
…
As far as I know, the reason presidential candidates made their tax returns public is that all of our recent presidents have spent their lives in politics. They didn’t hold real jobs. Instead, they were banking taxpayer dollars. Taxpayers, therefore, were entitled to know whether the politician got rich off of them. That’s most assuredly not the case with Donald Trump.

The only reason the Times wanted Trump’s returns was to embarrass him, either by showing that he was rich (the hateful plutocrat) or poor (the lousy businessman).

New York Times Fails at Outlining President Trump’s Taxes Again… sundance – “In the article the Times completely obfuscates the way income taxes are strategically offset by depreciation, mortgage interest and the entire reason why real estate ownership is viewed as a business.”

“In practical terms no President before Trump has ever had his actual business portfolio so deeply connected to the success of the American economy. It doesn’t cost the American taxpayer a dime to have President Trump in office…. Now let’s figure out how DC politicians making $200k/yr are able to become multi-millionaires while holding office.

Was Russia Probe The Most Corrupt U.S. Investigation Ever? I & I Editorial Board – “knowing what we know now, it’s fair to conclude: 1. Clinton campaign colluded w someone suspected of being a Russian spy. 2. MSM fell for it & got duped by Steele dossier. 3. FBI, knowing Steele sub-source was thought to be a Russian spy, conducted an improper investigation.” … “these are not mere campaign hijinks or simple errors. They constitute an organized criminal assault on the electoral system, the presidency and our democratic way of life. It’s now clear, if it wasn’t before, that criminal indictments are in order.” … “If more indictments aren’t forthcoming from the Durham investigation, it likely will be a sign that something’s fundamentally wrong with our political system. And it can’t be fixed with just another election.”

Blm: Where Does The Money Go? John Hinderaker – “In recent months, the Black Lives Matter organization has raised hundreds of millions of dollars (possibly into the billions) from individual and corporate donations. One Minnesota businessman gave the group $25 million. What do they do with all that cash?”

Left-Wing ‘Dark Money’ — Ignored By The Press — Could Tip Several Elections. Sarah Lee – “the presidential race isn’t the only focus of this merry band of barely visible left-wing funders. State races are also on the menu as part of Arabella’s plans to deploy “dark money” spending leftists once defined and then decried.”

And here’s the rest of the story … Alicia Colon – “consider this column, my attempt to fill in the news gap of the most volatile incidents that have inspired incendiary and totally unwarranted responses: the deaths of Michael Brown, George Floyd, Jacob Blake and Breonna Taylor.”

It’s loaded

‘Innocent’ Until Proven ‘Trump Supporter’. Ann Coulter – “Here’s a thought, GoFundMe: Guaranteeing a fair trial for an individual accused of a crime isn’t the same as defending the thing he’s accused of.”

“Poor Jake Gardner didn’t stand a chance against the raging, hate-filled multitude. Even those sworn to uphold the law, like Kleine and Franklin, leapt in with the mob. And a corporation whose business it is to enable people to raise money for just causes such as getting a fair trial refused to do business with him, not unlike the Memphis Woolworth’s treatment of black people in 1960.
…
Last weekend, facing death threats and a kangaroo court, and with no means to mount a defense, Gardner killed himself, rather than be killed by the mob waiting for him back in Omaha.
…
It’s official: You can’t protect yourself. Not even a blameless ex-Marine could defend himself from being choked to death. The D.A. will call in a “special” prosecutor to throw you to the wolves, and they’ll both be praised for railroading an innocent man in the Omaha World Herald, while the national media defame you.

A “Culture of Lawlessness” in D.A. Offices. Jason C. Johnson – “Progressive prosecutors around the country have failed to pursue justice for the public.”

Is Nancy Pelosi deliberately trying to stir up riots across America? Andrea Widburg – “Pelosi seemingly believes that 2020 has given her license to violate all political norms.” … “We’ve come to the point where we expect nothing but violence from the mob and cowardice from the prosecutors. However, if we are to have some semblance of a functional nation, we should expect our federal politicians to do their best to calm the American landscape, lest a civil war start and our major cities end up looking like Aleppo, Syria”

Why Mr. Trump Might Resent the Transition Question. Editorial of The New York Sun – “What that moment did, in our estimate, was mark Mr. Trump as presidential timber — as an individual who could stand apart from the crowd. He could easily have pledged to support whoever won the primary. Yet he knew that he was being asked to give away an option, something Presidents are importuned to do all the time. And that the others, by agreeing to it without conditions, could be seen as shortsighted and even weak.”

The Missing Piece Of That Peaceful Transfer Of Power Question. Victory Girls – “President Trump trolled Karem and everyone else and now has people clutching pearls and the media working overtime to insist there is no problems with ballots ANYWHERE, even as the Democrats now signal that in-person voting is the best thing ever. ”

Attacks on the Meritocracy Have Been Coming For Years. Coyote – citing Andrew Sullivan – “in the labor movement — requirements to use seniority over performance for layoffs, ban the box laws, lawsuits over reference checks, attacks on gig economy where rewards are tied to performance, etc.” … “I understand that this is exactly what the Left is shooting for – an environment where the competent have no advantage over the incompetent.”

“A number of folks thought the bit in bold overwrought, but I still feel this is directionally correct. Clearly DeBoer defines an extreme. I think the actual goal of the Left could be better stated as wanting to make all employment decisions based not so much on competence but on credentials, credentials that are awarded via processes and institutions controlled by the Left (and that might over time be awarded as much for political orthodoxy as for learning relevant skills). Which, by the way, is pretty much exactly how the Soviet Union worked. And is pretty much how tenure works at most universities today.

How to break the left’s chokehold on the teaching of American History. Paul Mirengoff – “The way to break the left’s chokehold on the teaching of our history is not to impose a de facto national curriculum — e.g., Common Core, new national civics standards, or an AP U.S. history framework. Rather, the idea is to return our education system to the principles of federalism, competition, and local control.” … “In the end, public support for AAT’s efforts will determine whether the enterprise ultimately succeeds in reclaiming U.S. history from the left.”

This shouldn’t have been allowed to happen.

‘Obsession’ Uncovers The Plot To Impeach Trump. Tony Daniel – “Veteran journalist Byron York’s new book, ‘Obsession: Inside the Washington Establishment’s Never-Ending War on Trump,’ turns the story of Trump’s impeachment into a compelling real-life thriller that will leave readers indignant.”

“York’s theme is that collusion, impeachment, bribery — all of it — was an arabesque. There was never any “there” there. Yet Democrats could not let it go.
…
With a steady drumbeat of factual, piece-by-piece storytelling, York captures the Chautauqua of sleaze and venality that has overtaken official Washington for the past four years in this, the greatest ongoing emanation of meaningless sound and fury in U.S. political history.

‘Trump Was Right’: Explosive New FBI Texts Detail Internal Furor Over Handling Of ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ Investigation. Sean Davis and Mollie Hemingway – “Newly disclosed internal FBI notes and text messages detail the extent of the FBI’s desire to take down Trump and his associates at any cost.”

Declassified Susan Rice Email Confirms Michael Flynn Was Personally Targeted In Oval Office Meeting. Sean Davis – “Newly declassified portions of a key Susan Rice email confirm that Michael Flynn was personally targeted during a January 5 Oval Office meeting with Obama.”

Sean Davis: It’s A Complete Disgrace It’s Taken So Long To Get Any Real Answers On The Russia Hoax. Tristan Justice – “where are the whistleblowers and why are we learning about this three years after Chris Wray took over the FBI? Why are we learning about this from a court case? Why was this not disclosed to Congress? … It’s a complete disgrace.”

Will Media Ever Ask About Biden’s Corrupt Deals As Vice President? I & I Editorial Board – “Reporting over the years (mainly by conservative or nonpartisan web-based outlets) on Biden’s questionable and possibly illegal moves while in office to help Hunter line his pockets has solid evidence backing it up.”

There’s one case that really highlights Ginsburg’s toxic judicial activism. Andrea Widburg – “In her dissent, Ginsburg, unlike the majority, did not start with the law; she started with her preferred outcome.” … “To reach this preferred outcome, Ginsburg engaged in open intellectual dishonesty.”

Media: U.S. Public Schools Teaching Patriotism Would Be Tyrannical And Racist. Joy Pullmann – “You can’t make this stuff up. Now loving your country despite her many sins, and not wanting taxpayer dollars to teach kids to hate their country, is ‘what dictators do.’”

The myth of the ‘stolen country’. Daniel McCarthy – “This ‘stolen country’ paradigm has spread like wildfire throughout the British diaspora in recent years.” … “The narrative of the ‘stolen country’ or ‘Native American genocide’ does not stand up to scrutiny by any honest and clear-sighted historian.” … “The very notion of property is a Greco-Roman invention which most cultures found foreign until quite recently.” McCarthy provides a lot of common sense history.

Republicans are knocking it out of the park with political ads and memes. Andrea Widburg – “Even though the Democrats own the actors, they don’t own the true creative talent in Hollywood. That all seems to have crossed to the Republican side of the aisle.” SEE THE VIDEOS to see for yourself!

Say the name … even despite the facts in evidence

It’s in The Book. Peter Smith – “Supposed you were asked to name the most important and abiding characteristic of Western civilisation.”

“How likely is it that the best mankind has been able to produce has stemmed from a lie? Not at all likely, I would say. In fact, I doubt its remote possibility. Yet, many who value our civilisation, and I am obviously excluding the current vile iteration of the Left, have no belief in God and in Jesus Christ. I can’t explain their ability to embrace what are, in my view, two contradictory ideas at the one time. And will leave it at that.

What can’t be left is the damage a growing lack of belief is having on the fabric of our civilisation.

Democrats’ ‘Norm’ Is Brutalizing The Reputations Of Republican Court Nominees. John Daniel Davidson – “For the last 30 years, Republican nominations for the Supreme Court have faced personal, ugly, defamatory attacks from Democrats.”

“Every time a Republican president has nominated someone to the Supreme Court in the last 30 years, with one notable exception, Democrats have responded by smearing the nominee with accusations of ideological extremism, racism, misogyny, sexual harassment, plagiarism, and, most infamously in Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s case, gang rape.

The Kavanaugh confirmation hearings stand out not just because they were the most recent but because they were such an ugly and outlandish spectacle.
…
Senate Republicans generally don’t engage in this sort of calumny. They ask questions, maybe they use their time to grandstand a little, but by and large, they vote yes or no and move on. For Senate Democrats, vilifying the nominee has become a time-honored, if despicable, ritual.

Are Liberals Responsible For the Consequences of Their Death Threats? (With Comment from Steve). John Hinderaker – “Incendiary and violent language is used constantly by liberals, including the most important Democratic politicians.”

Top Republicans sound alarm on election chaos. Byron York – “The culprit: Changes to state election laws and procedures” … “Part of the problem: Those ballots, dumped in the mail by the millions” … “And then there’s ballot harvesting”

Media Declares “Violence Is Inevitable” As 2 Cops Shot In Louisville; Reporters Arrested In Aggressive Police Crackdown. Tyler Durden –

“Amazingly, left-leaning media outlets had the gall to frame the shooting of two police as an “inevitable”, while framing the events of last night in distorted terms that served to support their narrative of a corrupt justice system absolving three murderers, instead of reporting the facts: that a jury of their peers – not some unassailable magistrate – decided on the indictments for the three officers.

The truth finally emerges about Breonna Taylor’s death. Andrea Widburg – “It turns out (surprise!) that the Democrat party – in Congress, in the media, and on the streets – has been lying.”

BLM, Antifa and the Communist Strategy to Destroy the United States. Joseph Hippolito – “Today’s woke violence – yesterday’s red tactics.” … “The unprecedented violence perpetrated by Antifa and Black Lives Matter embodies two of the Left’s biggest tactics in its quest to fundamentally transform the United States.”

Bullets Over Louisville. Roger L. Simon – “The time has come to say clearly what many of us have muttered for a long time”

“The question is who is putting the rioters, looters, and destroyers up to their mayhem? Who, for example, rented the U-Haul from which, video shows, all sorts of ad hoc weaponry was disgorged to the supposedly peaceful protestors before the Taylor decision came down? And who paid that person and so on?

t should all be tracked down now. I don’t know if “something is rotten in the state of Denmark” but it sure is in the USA and for the good of all of us we’d better find out why and who.

Lefties at The Nation discover that (non-FBI) feds have been tracing the puppet masters behind Antifa and BLM. Thomas Lifson – “The apparent lead role in utilizing hi tech and classified electronic means is being played by The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), while the US Marshal’s Service is dispatching street level personnel. This bypasses the FBI, whose Director William Wray is on the record in sworn testimony, dismissing any such superstructure”

Thomas Szasz: “Formerly, when religion was strong and science weak, men mistook magic for medicine; now, when science is strong and religion weak, men mistake medicine for magic.”

Blue truth matters … All truth matters

“No Medical Justification For Emergency Measures” – Open Letter From 100s Of Doctors, Health Pros Urges End To Lockdowns. Tyler Durden – “We, Belgian doctors and health professionals, wish to express our serious concern about the evolution of the situation in the recent months surrounding the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.”

“After the initial panic surrounding covid-19, the objective facts now show a completely different picture – there is no medical justification for any emergency policy anymore.

The current crisis management has become totally disproportionate and causes more damage than it does any good.

We call for an end to all measures and ask for an immediate restoration of our normal democratic governance and legal structures and of all our civil liberties.
…
We believe that the policy has introduced mandatory measures that are not sufficiently scientifically based, unilaterally directed, and that there is not enough space in the media for an open debate in which different views and opinions are heard.
…
As doctors and health professionals, in the face of a virus which, in terms of its harmfulness, mortality and transmissibility, approaches the seasonal influenza, we can only reject these extremely disproportionate measures.

  • We therefore demand an immediate end to all measures.

  • We are questioning the legitimacy of the current advisory experts, who meet behind closed doors.

  • Following on from ACU 2020 https://acu2020.org/nederlandse-versie/ we call for an in-depth examination of the role of the WHO and the possible influence of conflicts of interest in this organisation. It was also at the heart of the fight against the “infodemic”, i.e. the systematic censorship of all dissenting opinions in the media. This is unacceptable for a democratic state governed by the rule of law.

Why Supreme Court Nominations Have Become a Matter of Life and Death. Don Feder – “Rioting in New York, threats of court-packing, promises of arson at the thought of Trump replacing its demi-god with a justice who actually believes in the Constitution. The left is rabid.”

“For decades, the judiciary has been the left’s House of Lords. It can lose the presidency. It can lose Congress. But as long as it has the courts – the Supreme Court in particular – democracy is in chains.

You want to deport illegal aliens? Sorry, you can’t do that unless you leap through hoops. You want to end federal funding of Democrat cities that won’t put a stop to the insurrection in our streets? You can’t do that either; the money has already been appropriated. So the rioting will continue and the funding will continue.

Utah Company Gives Up Suite at Jazz Games Over Anthem Kneeling, BLM Promotion. Collin Anderson – “Construction firm skewers NBA in letter: ‘True heroes like Chris Kyle and Pat Tillman go unnoticed’”

“A Utah company is giving up its suite at Jazz games, citing the players’ decision to kneel during the national anthem. The company, Salt Lake County-based SME Steel Contractors, is asking the NBA franchise to “put a stop to all disrespectful actions during the anthem and remove the Black Lives Matter logo from the arena.”

DoJ would prefer not to… Scott Johnson – “Recalling the treatment the Democrats accorded Barr at that hearing, Boyd declines Nadler’s request.”

Scientific American’s Scientifically Indefensible Biden Endorsement. Laurence Jarvik – “An editorial that begins and ends with lies is, by definition, not credible and unworthy of a purportedly “scientific” journal” … the question is why a formerly reputable magazine would publish such partisan trash.

Blue Truth Matters. Heather Mac Donald, replying to Matthew J. Peterson, “Ending the BLM Revolution” – “The Black Lives Matter movement trades on Americans’ ignorance about the demographics of criminal offending. As long as that ignorance prevails, BLM’s anti-cop narrative will continue destroying the institutions of law and order.” … “The biggest predictor of officer behavior is civilian behavior.”

Jim Caviezel tries to arm Christians for the coming battles in America. Andrea Widburg – “Hollywood types almost invariably debase public discourse. There are exceptions”

Knowing what’s at stake?

“Whether they support the social causes these protesters claim to represent or not, peaceful onlookers grapple with these actions in bewilderment. What could possess a normal person to commit apparently mindless acts of mob madness like these?” A 1930s Communist Spy Can Help Explain What’s Motivating The Riots, Elle Reynolds – “The answer that former spy Whittaker Chambers gave in 1952 still applies today.”

“Nor should we ignore who, according to Chambers, is at fault. The West, rejecting God in favor of man’s ultimacy, offered men no faith to adhere to but faith in themselves.

The result of such misplaced faith is a self-righteous judgment upon anyone who refuses to join what they believe is a holy cause. It shouts in the faces of those who refuse to raise their fists in solidarity. And more than anything, it reminds us of man’s dire need for a good greater than himself.

Mask Fanatics Have Officially Abandoned Science To Control Your Life, Georgi Boorman – “It’s nothing new for political religions to produce radicals that develop their own sects or cults. This time around, rigid devotion to enforcing mask compliance has produced runaway fanaticism based on nothing but blind faith that more mask-wearing is always better.” … “ — the stronger and more widespread the extremism will grow, and the less influence experts will have over their behavior.”

“This is what happens, however, when scientific standards are abandoned for political goals only loosely tied to public health: Pseudo-scientific fanaticism develops, and its followers are obsessed with gaining compliance, not saving lives. One can draw a straight line from the initial departure from scientific evidence on lockdowns to the current coronavirus extremism, which only increases in intensity as deaths and hospitalizations decline.
…
This is our world in 2020. Ironically, not even the experts can keep pro-lockdown, pro-mask fanatics from harassing and endangering others. If you want to prevent this reality from becoming permanent, stand up to the bullies and stand firm on the science — including voting out politicians who’ve abandoned science and recalling those who aren’t up for re-election in November.

Americans Against Unconstitutional Mask Mandates, Michelle Malkin – “Masks off. Fight on. This is the American way.” … “Americans yearning to breathe free are waking up from their pandemic stupor. Common sense and constitutional principles, now more than ever, are vital to a sovereign nation’s health.”

The Adverse Effects of Obama’s Executive Order 13583 and the Purge of Generals and Admirals Are Now Obvious, Stu Cvrk – “the 2011 Executive Order 13583 directing “government-wide diversity and inclusion training,” which, by 2020, included the implementation of Marxist critical race theory training in all federal agencies including the US military services.”

Anyone Notice That The Trump Recovery Is Doing Much Better Than Expected? I & I Editorial Board – “the question we have is this: Why do mainstream economists and the press keep getting it wrong? Why do they keep making new dire predictions after their previous ones proved false?”

President Trump Makes One Sorry Fascist. Jack Cashill – “On every fascist metric, Obama beats Trump by a giant goose step. One could argue that Trump “exalts nation” more than Obama, and that is true, but not “above the individual.” For Obama, like all socialists, national socialists included, the individual was expected to subordinate his interests to those of the state.”

Cringeworthy Study Debunked: There Was No ‘Sturgis Superspreader’ COVID-19 Event. Stephen Green – “In reality, the media prefers to spread COVID-19 panic and disinformation. That’s why for the most part they didn’t apply a critical eye to a study that was ridiculous on the face of it.”

Leftism’s Casual Relationship with the Truth Is Intentional. Roman Skaskiw – “Philosophy professor Stephen Hicks’s excellent little book Explaining Post-Modernism details the many outrageous ideological pivots the radical left has been forced to make over the years to preserve a revolutionary posture, including even its abandonment of the presumption of truth.”

A Collection of Liars. Roger Kimball – “There is nothing at all comical about the implosion of the American media.”

Fact Checking Versus “Fact Checking” In The Trump Era. Jazz Shaw – “one thing to keep an eye on is the level and severity of the fact-checking in question and how it’s applied to the two candidates.” And don’t forget the modifiers and descriptors used in headlines and stories.

The Democrats’ partisan damage. Michael Goodwin – “Future historians will chart the decades-long path of how we got to this perilous point, but they must not ignore the incredible damage done by Democrats’ decision to reject the legitimacy of the Trump presidency.” … “These were the dirtiest tricks imaginable, and they haven’t stopped.”

Warning: What’s Happening in Las Vegas Will Destroy America. Wayne Allyn Root – “I was wrong. It’s easy to destroy Las Vegas, formerly the greatest city on Earth. Just put one dumb, clueless, incompetent liberal with Trump Derangement Syndrome in charge.”

NV Gov. Sisolak: ‘Doesn’t Make Any Sense’ for Trump to Use Protests as Justification for Rallies – I Wish We Had No Large Gatherings at All. Ian Hanchett – “As he’s comparing this to a protest, he’s like a little kid saying, so and so did it. So, I can do it, too.” Clueless.

The Nevada [supposedly] Independent on Trump’s rally: Henderson fines Xtreme Manufacturing $3,000 for hosting 5,600-person Trump rally in violation of state emergency directives, Megan Messerly; Nevada health officials predict uptick in COVID-19 cases following Labor Day weekend crowds, Trump rallies, Megan Messerly – note the ‘predicting’ i.e. FUD mongering; Trump rally-goers on why they took risk to attend Nevada campaign events, favor president amid pandemic, Kristyn Leonard, Tabitha Mueller, Savanna Strott – “Attendees in Northern Nevada were so excited to see the president that they pushed down the security barricade and rushed in to grab a seat around 5 p.m., two hours before Trump’s scheduled speech.” There is a gap between the public and their state government overlords (and these ‘reporters’).

“Between the shuttle buses, blaring music, and jam packed crowds, this overtly patriotic Coachella brought in many supporters hoping for a moment of normalcy in an upended election year, even as health officials braced for the potentially deadly consequences of the masses throwing health precautions to the side.

Look to the Sturgis Panic stories for a comparison and contrast and a real life data reference.

Federal Judge Rules Pennsylvania’s Stay-Home Order Unconstitutional. John Hinderaker – “how can governors issue executive orders closing businesses and directing us to remain in our homes, except as the government permits us occasional outings? What happened to the Constitution? Federal judge William Stickman addressed those questions today,”

Wildfires Will Become Worse Thanks To Decades-Old Liberal Policies, Says Fire Expert Who Predicted Uptick In Blazes. Chris White – “Former President Bill Clinton made a significant change to federal land management nearly 30 years ago that created the conditions necessary for massive wildfires to consume portions of the West Coast, according to one fire expert who predicted the problem years ago.”

It Turns Out a Number of Fires on the West Coast Aren’t Because of ‘Climate Change’. Beth Baumann – “Most of the West Coast – Washington State, Oregon, California, and Idaho – are on fire. While the left is pushing their climate change theory, police are arresting arsonists for sparking these dangerous fires.” … “Regardless of who started these fires or why, these need to be part of the conversation. Automatically attributing wildfires to climate change is irresponsible. And it’s a way for the left to push their Green New Deal agenda.”

You Will Be Re-Educated. Christine Rosen – “Although forms of diversity education and training have been a mandatory part of many workplaces and school curricula over the years, the new reeducation on race requires that its participants not merely attend such trainings but actively parrot the arguments being presented to them.” … “We now live in a world where even noting that inspiring history and those powerful ideas constitutes a racist microaggression. If education is the key to knowledge, and knowledge the path to wisdom, then reeducation of the sort we are seeing now is nothing less than a one-way road to cultural destruction.

The CDC blatantly violates a Trump order regarding Critical Race Theory. Andrea Widburg – “At the beginning of September, the director of the Office of Management and Budget announced that, at President Trump’s direction, all federal agencies would be banned from imposing Critical Race Theory (CRT) on their employees.” … “This an important story because it is a nexus of the issues that brought Trump into the White House in 2016. It’s the story of an out-of-control federal agency that feels that no one — and certainly not the constitutional executive of the United States — has any authority over it.”

‘Proven leader’: More than 200 former military leaders endorse Trump in open letter. Zachary Halaschak – “The group, which includes three retired Air Force generals and five Navy admirals, contends that Trump “has been tested as few other presidents have and is the proven leader to confront these dangers.” … “With the Democratic Party welcoming to socialists and Marxists, our historic way of life is at stake,” the letter says. ”

Starting riots is like starting forest fires.

Huge Nevada Trump Crowd Wants Four More Years, Not A New Normal. David Marcus – “Thousands defied social distancing and masking to celebrate their favorite president in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday night.” … “The news in Nevada is that it is in play.”

Marcus understands the news. The Nevada [supposedly] Independent Megan Messerly doesn’t. Trump rallies thousands of supporters at indoor rally in defiance of state COVID-19 health rules – “Trump stuck significantly more to the facts on a number of Nevada-related issues during the hour-long rally in Henderson after falsely telling supporters in Minden Saturday that Sisolak controls millions of ballots.” The nitpicking fact checking and the moral preening – “Tonight, President Donald Trump is taking reckless and selfish actions that are putting countless lives in danger here in Nevada,” Sisolak said. – are both indicators of blinding bias. There’s even a “He suggested, without evidence, … ” (suggestions need evidence?)

The I & I Editorial Board has two up for thought. Democratic Derangement: Party ‘Games’ A Possible Coup If Trump Wins In November – “what if a loser refuses to acknowledge the results of a free and fair election?”. And Never-Trumpers Need A Lesson In Basic Math – “So let’s acknowledge every complaint that never-Trumpers have about Trump. Their calculus still doesn’t add up.”

“The Democrats are playing with fire, supporting increasingly violent demonstrations against the legitimate government of our country, while pondering illegitimate means to remove Trump from office even if he wins. That’s not an election. It’s called a coup.

America’s Biggest Threat Isn’t Coronavirus, It’s Congress’s Response To It. Chip Roy, Jody Hice, and Andy Biggs – “What Congress is doing, as it always does, is attempting to throw money at the problems that we and state and local legislatures have created.”

FLASHBACK: Black Lives Matter Was Violent From The Start, And Media And Politicians Knew It. Christopher Bedford – “It’s come to this, and won’t end this weekend. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden condemned the shooting Sunday, but still refused to name the organization behind the violence on our streets.”

“It was a murderous terrorist attack, within hours claimed, if not perpetrated, by Black Lives Matter. The shooter is still at large.

These two officers graduated the academy 14 months ago, before Democrat and other leftist politicians once again abandoned them to the mob. Since George Floyd died under arrest, these politicians have chanted Black Lives Matter’s anti-police lies alongside the crowds.

Antifa and BLM, the Democrat party’s stormtroopers. Patricia McCarthy – “When the tactics of Black Lives Matter coincide with the ideology of NPR, Americans should realize that the left has crossed yet another line on the indecency scale.”

“Not surprisingly, taxpayer-funded NPR has supported the not “peaceful protests” for months. They have been touting that ludicrous book that defends looting and the destruction of private property. They regularly use Trump’s words out of context. NPR lost its way long before Trump was elected, but it has been enthusiastically dragged into the anti-Trump fray.

Why taxpayers are forced to subsidize this particular branch of the Democrat party is not a mystery; taxpayers are stooges.
…
The Democrat party of today is authoritarian, socialist/communist, racist, anti-capitalist, anti-wealth for everyone but themselves, and hypocritical in the extreme.

How Detroit’s Police Chief Saved His City from Black Lives Matter. T.R. Clancy – “Drawing mostly small crowds and desperate for media attention, DWB’s [Detroit Will Breathe, the Motor City’s BLM franchisee] been stifled from the get-go by Chief Craig’s zero-tolerance approach to thugs and looters posing as demonstrators.” This story has all the elements but not the narrative most often seen in the media (like NPR).

“He gets away with his outspoken disrespect for DWB because he has Mayor Duggan’s support (a Democrat!) and understands that Detroiters at large are “fed up” with groups like DWB “fomenting chaos.

Last week’s court order is hardly the judicial rebuke DWB-supporters were hoping for. That’s because it prohibits the use of several non-lethal tactics, but “against any individual peacefully engaging in protest or demonstrations who does not pose a physical threat to the safety of the public or police.”
…
Craig’s no-negotiation stance with the likes of Detroit Will Breathe, which in essence rejects DWB’s basic premise, is leaving the group toothless — and irrelevant.

Police Shooting of Suspect Charging Officer Armed With a Knife Sets off Rioting in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Shipwreckedcrew – “In the end, it looks like Lancaster BLM/Antifa might have to answer some questions about a “lack of heart” from the pros in Portland, Seattle, and Minneapolis.” … “Tomorrow night will be key. Just like in Kenosha, if BLM/Antifa agitators start arriving from bigger cities like NY, Philly, and Pittsburgh, the protests tomorrow night could be more organized and larger.”

How The 1960s Riots Foreshadow Today’s Communist Weaponization Of Black Pain. Katharine Gorka – “Many would have us believe that the riots and violence sweeping across America’s cities this year are spontaneous. But history and current evidence tell us otherwise.” Starting riots is like starting forest fires.

Cuties and the Moral Gap Between Elites and the Public. Daniel Greenfield – “Netflix was making the same point that NBC and CBS and ABC did in their time. And it has even more capital to play with than they do. Will society shift to accommodate the values embodied by Cuties, as it did in the past?”

Conservatives’ Crushing Counterattack In the Culture War. Kurt Schlichter – “Thanks to Donald Trump, the culture war is back on and instead of General McClellan we have General Patton, and he’s up to RINO-slap a squish.” … “People are furious with Netflix, and it seems as if the Obama-affiliated VOD service was actually stunned that people objected.”

If Masks Work, Why Don’t They WORK? Scott Morefield – “neither the masks nor the lockdown measures every really stopped COVID-19 in its tracks, did they?”

“Bottom line: If the powers-that-be were correct, the areas that took a softer approach to lockdowns and masks would all be suffering immensely, while those with hard lockdowns and mandatory masks would be done with this. Right? So, why is maskless, lockdownless Sweden almost back to normal while Peru, India, Brazil, California and Columbia still languish? Why does this epic Twitter thread, which shows country after country performing horribly after they implemented mask mandates, even exist?

Horowitz: E-MASK-ulation: How we have been lied to so dramatically about masks – “What did the scientific literature say before the issue became political?”

Constitution thrown out the window …

The first amendment is getting the squeeze.

Judge Grants Injunction Barring Grace Community Church From Constitutional Right To Worship. Jordan Davidson – “The bullying and harassment continues. This is NOT about health. LA County just wants to shut down church.”

“Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff of the Los Angeles Superior Court issued a preliminary injunction Thursday that prohibits Pastor John MacArthur and Grace Community Church from “conducting, participating in, or attending any indoor worship services.” The ban also extends to services held outside “unless onerous restrictions are followed.”

Trump to rally supporters at Douglas County airport after earlier event scuttled by Reno airport officials. Megan Messerly – “plans for a similar event in Reno were scuttled earlier this week when airport officials said it would violate the state’s 50-person limit on public gatherings.” The state of Nevada and its most populous cities, Reno and Las Vegas, are engaging in political warfare against selected candidates in a Presidential campaign.

“It’s Like Using A Hammer To Kill A Fly” – Architect Of Sweden’s COVID-19 Anti-Lockdown Strategy Finally Vindicated. Tyler Durden – “Many Americans have also been guilty of criticizing Sweden without first appreciating how radical its program truly was. Throughout the pandemic, youth sports never even stopped. Now, the return of sports is suddenly becoming a major issue in the US.”

Ignorance and Complacency May Cost Us Our Dignity, Liberty and Freedom. Dr. Shmuel Katz – “Too many evil forces are exploiting us to advance their agendas.”

“We are in a period in our lives when the culture of not communicating and not listening to others has become a pathological norm, and “cancel culture” has become an everyday term. Unfortunately, it is being exploited by too many self-serving operatives who exploit this situation to their own advantage and to our detriment.
…
We are indoctrinated to believe that the information we are receiving from certain outlets is the only valid input that we should consider, while we should actively ignore or disparage any other source of information.
…
Dealing with objective information is very important and it should be properly addressed in a wise way. This search for truth was taken recently to a different level. I witnessed a bizarre new phenomenon among private people who have finally decided to engage in conversation, but will fact-check their opponents as they speak. This is very significant, because it shows that they are not really listening to each other, but instead are trying to debunk each other’s arguments. To add to this, even the fact checkers themselves sometimes have their own agendas, and therefore will be inaccurate.

Michelle Deserves Pity, but the Rest of Us Deserve More. Mark DeVine – “The equation “racial disparities = systemic racism” has achieved axiom status in the science of social justice.” … “Both as FLOTUS and after settling into an 11-plus-million-dollar Martha’s Vineyard mansion, Michelle found neither final escape nor permanent relief from racism and the pain it inflicts.” … “Michelle is a product of the “infantilization” of black Americans John McWhorter so incisively warns of.” … “Much of her suffering is unnecessary because its source resides far less in her experiences than in the meanings the social justice movement has trained her reflexively to draw from those experiences.”

Peace breaking out all over from Trump and the left is going haywire. Monica Showalter – “Democrats are having a shattered-glass crack-up to the continuous good news coming from President Trump on the global peace front. Their famously discplined lockstep ‘narrative’ has gone haywire.”

“What this peace news shows is not just that Trump has been right at every turn on how to create peace, he’s also still extremely good at exposing the left for what it is – taking them off guard, leaving them naked without a ‘narrative’ to repeat in lockstep, and watching them go bonkers in all directions.

Leftist war on meritocracy becomes overt. Lubos Motl – “For many years, we have seen that the post-modern or neo-Marxist left was increasingly fighting against some values that have been considered important for a long time”

“But it is exactly the difference between the gifted and not so gifted people that was removed or “heavily minimized” and it is exactly this removal that is responsible for the inability of communism (and other non-meritocratic systems) to advance the human society. The funny point which is relevant in all the discussions about capitalism-vs-communism as well as in any meritocracy-vs-antimeritocracy discussion is that in a human society, the less gifted ones ultimately benefit from the contributions by the gifted ones, too. Even the most ordinary workers in Western Europe ended up much wealthier than the median inhabitants of the Soviet bloc by the late 1980s. For this “miracle” to occur, the gifted ones simply do have to be incentivized. The laws of Nature do this incentivization rather naturally – capitalism is a natural state of affairs while socialism or communism are artificial, socially engineered constructs. So what’s enough is “not to prevent Mother Nature” from using Her invisible hand to incentivize the gifted ones. DeBoer’s statement that things will be OK when they are not incentivized is as wrong as you can get. When they’re not incentivized, the society stagnates and then degenerates and at the end, not just the gifted people but all people pay the price.

All people pay the price.

Election preparation like this is not campaigning, it’s battlespace prep.

New DOJ Documents Show Wholesale Evidence Destruction By Mueller Team. Kylee Zempel – “It seems unlikely that more than a dozen top Mueller officials all put their phones into airplane mode, locked them, and forgot the passwords or “accidentally” wiped their devices.”

Woodward: My Priority Was Getting Trump Smear Out Before Election. Daniel Greenfield – “There’s zero responsibility or journalism here. It’s about power and politics. Journalism, when it comes to Republicans, is just an opposition research op.”

LA County’s Public Health Director says what we suspected about the lockdown. Andrea Widburg – “A Democrat bureaucrat finally said what we all have known to be the truth: The Wuhan virus limitations that Democrat politicians and bureaucrats have imposed on Americans will go away after the election because that was the plan all along.”

Lithium reserves: enough for 1-5 generations of “cars across the world” and nothing else. Lubos Motl –This is a high school level look at the fundamental issues with electric cars and batteries of the sort that can be used to understand why many fantasies about energy are just that.

Anticipating antics

Is BLM The Mask Behind Which The Oligarchs Operate? Mike Whitney – “What do “Critical Race Theory”, “The 1619 Project”, and Homeland Security’s “White Supremacist” warning tell us about what’s going on in America today?” Conspiracy theories are generally escapist but this one has a lot of meat on its bones.

The Democrats’ Upcoming Theft of the 2020 Election. Donald N. Finley – “The characters in the play are all familiar names: George Soros; Bill and Melinda Gates; traitorous NeverTrumps like John Kasich, Bill Kristol, and Michael Steele; and the Clinton Cabal, including John Podesta and Donna Brazile.”

Reno airport authority: Planned Trump rally ‘may not proceed,’ violates state’s 50-person limit on public gatherings; Megan Messerly – “Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said in a statement that the president still plans to travel to Nevada on Saturday and Sunday as planned and that “additional details will be announced soon.”

At least four groups mounting separate campaigns in difficult quest to recall Sisolak. Riley Snyder, Tabitha Mueller, Savanna Strott – “The divided effort to recall Sisolak could complicate the already tenuous path required to qualify a recall against the governor, as voters can sign more than one petition but individual recall efforts are not allowed to combine signature totals.” Meanwhile, the hubris continues to leak from the Governor’s office.

The Democrat Election Plan: Chaos. Kenneth R. Timmerman – “The threat is real, and it’s coming. Big time.” … “I saw first-hand many of the tactics that a former Democrat Party election operative recently revealed in a stunning insider’s account published by the New York Post.” … “I look at these tactics and much more in my new book, The Election Heist, which I wrote to prepare you for what could happen this November.” … “And these are just the threats we know of, that have already been used by Democrat operatives, sometimes leading to federal prosecutions and convictions.”

Expect Democrat Shenanigans, But Don’t Panic. Kurt Schlichter – “Prepare. Work to get out the patriotic American vote. If we’re ready maybe this won’t descend into the chaos I describe in my novel/unintended documentary People’s Republic.” … “remember, there are time limits and procedures and we Republicans do have poll and count watchers (consider volunteering!).” … “The best thing for us is to ensure our people go out and vote in-person.”

There is something very wrong with some in the top ranks of America’s military. Andrea Widburg – “With Bob Woodward’s anti-Trump book about to be published, the media is focusing entirely on the easily debunked claim that Trump mishandled the Wuhan virus by “lying” to the American people. What the media is ignoring, however, is a much more serious claim, which is that former Secretary of Defense General James Mattis plotted to overthrow Trump and his administration. This fact, if true, supports my long-time fear about the damage Obama inflicted on the upper echelons of the Pentagon.”

Today in Fake News. Steven Hayward – “Normally “avoiding a public panic” would be a reason for praise, but people afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome can’t help themselves.”

What’s going on with the Durham investigation, if anything? Andrea Widburg – “Judicial Watch’s founder Tom Fitton thinks that conservatives are being scammed.” … “What changed that plan was the lockdown, … perhaps Barr is waiting to see how the election turns out. … that’s another reason to get out and vote – in person – for Donald Trump.”

Carter Page’s Book Shows How The Left Will Ruin Patriots To Get Power. Margot Cleveland – “It isn’t Carter Page who should be apologizing to his family for what they’ve gone through. It’s the Crossfire Hurricane team, the members of the special counsel team, and the press.”

Byron York On Why Washington And The Media Are Obsessed With Trump. The Federalist Staff – “Despite the evidence proving that the allegations about Russia and Trump were wrong, York says many on the left and in the media are holding onto the accusations, writing books, and continuing to perpetuate the false collusion narrative.”

The Nobel For Trump? Committee Could Restore Its Credibility By Giving Him The Peace Prize. I & I Editorial Board – “Despite his authentic achievements, Trump won’t be awarded the Peace Prize, even if his record would help the committee clean up its tarnished reputation.” The negativity is based on the recent history of the Nobel committee.

Don’t Blame Climate Change For Raging Wildfires, Blame Bad Management. Krystina Skurk – “Despite common sense, the historic record, and scientific evidence, leftist environmentalists would fight and protest for a utopia we will never see, all while the world burns.” Did you catch that story about how they are thinking about Indigenous fire stewardship (or see Cool Burns)? Fantasy couples with anti-Western Culture and ignorance to provide a model for management improvements? Calling it “indigenous” rather than established western science based forestry research sounds so much better. “Examples of the government’s despotic enforcement of unreasonable environmental policies are numerous in Australia.” – and California. [indigenous is ‘set fire and run’. It is western science that prepares, plans, and evaluates risks]

Football’s Been Back For Weeks With No ‘Super Spreader’ Events Yet. Hutson Mason – “Evidence shows schools are maintaining a mostly ‘COVID-19 free’ bubble for players. So, enjoy your football, America! After 2020, you’ve earned it.” Like Sturgis, there’s no ‘there’ there and the propagandists are spinning dervishes. … “The devil is in the details. Yet somehow, the details are continuously excluded when the data reflects that we should be having football season.”

Citizens Stop Spanish Police From Arresting Woman For Not Wearing Mask. Paul Joseph Watson – “A protest in Madrid against Spain’s coronavirus laws, which require people to wear face masks everywhere, both inside and outside, drew thousands of demonstrators on Saturday.”

Democrats’ Opposition To A COVID-19 Vaccine Could Cost Lives. Jonathan S. Tobin – “Distrust of a coronavirus vaccine released by Trump fuels anti-vaxxer sentiment that will hinder efforts to eradicate the disease even if Biden is elected.” … “Democrats love to claim to be “the party of science!” but it is they who are acting like science deniers.”

Kritarchs. The guardians at the gate seem to asleep (or drugged?)

America’s Reign Of Judges Has Left Us With An Unrecognizable Constitution. Michael Anton – “Judges who can find no support in law for the outcome they want resort to their own personal sense of morality to achieve their desired result.” … “It’s more precise to say that modern American judges are a vital node of the neoliberal oligarchy who exercise far more power than they ought to have, in ways the founders never intended.”

Mark Tapscott at Instapundit has this: “COPLAND DISASSEMBLES AMERICA’S RULING CLASS: Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow James Copland’s new book, “The Unelected: How An Unaccountable Elite Is Governing America,” is getting and fully deserves outstanding reviews like this one by Law & Liberty’s Mark Pulliam.”

Repairing the Rule of Law: An Agenda for Post-Trump Reform. Paul Rosenzweig, Vishnu Kannan – this is an illustration of the depths to which TDS can take otherwise thinking people. The cites of Trump malfeasance all apply to his predecessor, not Trump. The attempt to make tax returns public is indicative as these are reviewed by civil authorities (e.g. the IRS) and the attempt to strip this President naked is an exercise in voyeurism, not political opinion. The invoking of emergency powers is also an interesting divergence from reality.

3 Crucial Breakdowns In Journalistic Standards That Explain The Atlantic’s Trump Political Hit Piece. Christopher Bedford – “So what exactly did The Atlantic and its legions of friends do wrong here, and why can’t we believe its claims about President Trump’s fallen soldier comments on its face?” … Sources … Confirmation Bias … Echo Chamber.

“All of these, however, lead to a major problem in corporate media: an unskeptical belief the president is a bad man who must be defeated has led to discarding an ever-growing number of essential journalistic practices. It’s the reason more and more Americans don’t trust their media — and it’s a good one.

Pre-Election Dirty Tricks: Ignore, Refute, or Pivot? Julie Kelly – “Democratic campaign operatives disguised as very serious journalists are promising new bombshells over the coming weeks.”

“It sounds unlikely but the most appalling instance of journalistic malpractice last week was not when The Atlantic published anonymous allegations that President Trump disparaged American troops behind closed doors—it was Joe Biden’s so-called press conference following another shaky, rambling, and dishonest speech disguised as a “campaign event.”
…
Undoubtedly, more anonymous sources with more unproven accusations will surface;
…
the question we must ask—and answer—is how much attention should we give these hyperbolic claims?

Neo, 2020 America: It’s Orwell crossed with Lewis Carroll, cites commenter Barry Meislin: “What is fascinating /curious/nauseating — and yes, scary — is that so many liberal, decent, caring, ethical, moral, bright, talented, sophisticated and intelligent people have been persuaded that this is what must be done. Have bought the finely-wrought lies, the “moral imperative” — the EVIL — of those who wish to do all this hook, line, and sinker.”

““Why wouldn’t they want to know what the other side is saying?” she asked me. My answer to her was that this was the difference that made her unusual. I said that in my opinion most people don’t want to know, don’t want to hear, don’t want to have their belief system challenged by anything that could threaten it.

She is different; she wants to know. I don’t know what causes that difference, but I certainly notice it.

The Biden Slime Operation. Conrad Black – “This is the Democratic canon: malicious lies supported by stupid lies and disseminated to the world by the morally bankrupt, reflexively partisan Trump-hating media.” … “In terms of political ethics and tactics, the Democrats have hit rock bottom.” … “the odium of the incident is magnified by the fact that it was clearly staged in a tight sequence coordinated between the Biden campaign and its most rabid media partisans.”

Vindman, Not Whistleblower, Was Driving Force Behind Impeachment. Mollie Hemingway – “New book shows how Lt. Col. Alex Vindman was the real instigator of the Ukraine investigation that formed the pretext for Democrats’ impeachment of President Trump.” So many who stood by, or even assisted, the runaway freight train going down grade …

the growing desperation of the Left

How The Atlantic’s Helicopter Hit Job On Trump Follows The Left’s Propaganda Playbook. Margot Cleveland – “Not only was The Atlantic’s story not confirmed by the supposed corroboration of some of the details, there is no way you can confirm a story premised solely on anonymous sources.” … “Revisiting the many hit pieces launched at Trump since he first entered the political sphere reveals the same technique in play” … see also Atlantic Editor Concedes Central Claim Of Trump Hit Piece Could Be Wrong by Jordan Davidson. The editor is echoing Dan Rather on the TANG fake.

Trump daring Dems to defend ‘critical race theory’ and 1619 project as he moves to suspend indoctrination in schools and govt. agencies. Thomas Lifson – “Democrats have made implicit promises to the radicals whose active support they need that they will back aggressive compulsory brainwashing sessions demonizing Caucasians and the American founding as fundamentally and inherently racist.”

Desperately Derailing Donald. Victor Davis Hanson – “The effort to stop President Trump is growing comical.” … “We should expect lots of these “bombshells” and “walls are closing in” pseudo derailments. Except Trump has been the most widely investigated, probed, attacked, and smeared president in history.” … “The point is, in Jussie Smollett fashion, the demand for scandals is outrunning the supply and time grows short. ” … “Goldberg’s work, then, is symptomatic not just of the growing desperation of the Left to blow up Trump’s current polling trajectory, but the poverty of the muck material still left to work with.”

Want More Racism? Black Lives Matter Is How You Get More Racism. I & I Editorial Board – “Nothing good will come of the bullying, violence and baseless accusations that are filling the news cycle.” … “BLM isn’t interested in racial harmony. It is a segregationist organization and Marxist in its roots, which means it intends to pit Americans against each other to destabilize society. BLM leaders have revolution on their mind, and, in their twisted thinking, splitting the entire country into either racists or anti-racists will accelerate the upheaval.”

Black Lives Matter: Marxist Hate Dressed Up As Racial Justice. John Perazzo – “A new investigative report from the David Horowitz Freedom Center.” – “More recently, another prominent, enormously influential movement—which just happens to be backed by this same Leslie Cagan—has similarly adopted a benign sounding name that resonates quite naturally with people of good will.”

The Marxist Virus is Still Lethal. Bruce Thornton – “Is the ground being laid for the final demolition of the Constitutional order?” … “But remember, every revolution is accomplished by a minority of true believers using expendable fellow-travelers as shock-troops and cannon-fodder. ”

“What we are really witnessing is the manifestation of a Marxist ideology and methodology over 150 years old. This intellectual virus has waxed and waned over that time, but has survived for one reason: The liberal democracies have adopted policies that accept and legitimize the technocratic, redistributionist, centralized Leviathan state.
…
This election ultimately will be a referendum on whether we the people should undergo that “transformation,” or vote to check the latest Marxist assault and keep our freedom. As it has been for centuries, the choice will be between freedom and tyranny.

Mail Ballots Bag Big Win for Biden, Dems Say. Lloyd Billingsley – “How ballot fraud is already working in California.”

Legal group finds thousands of double voters in battleground states. Rowan Scarborough – “Nevada has become ground zero in the vote by mail debate. Not only did Clark County mail ballots — as opposed to ballot applications, as did other counties — it sent ballots to everyone on its list, including inactive voters.”

Nefarious purposes

Democrats Are Fighting Trump’s Judges Like Never Before, But Trump’s Still Winning. Ilya Shapiro – “The average Democrat has voted against nearly half of all Trump judicial nominees, while the average Republican voted against fewer than 10 percent of Obama nominees and — get this — since the turn of the 20th century, senators of one party voted against fewer than 2 percent of nominees of the other.”

“It’s a shame that quality nominees are confirmed on party-line votes; only 16 of 53 circuit judges confirmed under Trump have gotten more than 60 votes. But we’ve gotten here because we’re at the culmination of a long trend whereby different legal theories map onto ideologically sorted parties. Federal judges are a big deal, so it’s understandable that senators try to advance or block as many as possible.
…
It’s a shame that quality nominees are confirmed on party-line votes;
…
That’s why I’d never tell senators to vote for a nominee they think will do damage to the Constitution and the rule of law.
…
For senators and citizens alike, it’s absolutely appropriate to question judicial philosophy. Judicial nominations are now properly an election issue, so it’s heartening that voters are paying attention.

Shapiro asserts “President Trump, who wouldn’t have won had it not been for the Supreme Court vacancy created by Justice Antonin Scalia’s death … ” but the controversy there was not court decisions but legislative deference to elections. So this assertion seems to do more to assert bias than fact. It is the sort of bias that the facts Shapiro presents regarding partisanship in judge confirmations show as a significant new source of conflict. Ideology should be a minor issue in judge confirmations but now it is a major one because the judiciary is being used as a means to promulgate laws that cannot pass Congress. That is why his sop about “do damage” is hypocritical because what he notes has nothing to do with “damage to the Constitution and the rule of law” but rather to political ideology and party power. The damage being done, the damage that has prompted Shapiro’s observations, is about damage to a judiciary that has been destroying its credibility that the current administration is trying to address.

Cortez Masto: ICE detention center in Pahrump appears clean, but underscores immigration enforcement ‘is just broken’ by Michelle Rindels and Democrats ask court to block ‘fatally flawed’ Trump lawsuit against Nevada’s expanded mail voting for 2020 election by Riley Snyder provide two examples about why Shaprio’s observations are important. In both these cases, what was ‘good’ under the previous administration is now evil complete with hyperbole and exaggeration. Both involve the judiciary and law enforcement that is being pushed for partisan ends. For background, see More Illegal Aliens Charged for Voter Fraud in the 2016 Presidential Race, Bronson Stocking – “It’s now Sep. 2020, and the feds are still uncovering voter fraud in the 2016 presidential election. … The charges come as “fiery-but-mostly-peaceful” Democrats deny the existence of voter fraud and clamor for vote-by-mail.”

Why Did The Atlantic Think It Could Get Away With Its Trump Smear? Every Other Media Outlet Did. Daniel Greenfield – “ There’s an entire industry in smears targeting President Trump sourced through publishing and the media that are based on anonymous sources.”

“In the post-truth, post-fact, and post-journalism era, the media is just a bunch of anti-Trump campaign ads, rolling out opposition research from anonymous sources and then complaining that Facebook will let Republicans “lie” about Biden in Facebook ads, and demanding that the debates have a fact-checker waiting on hand.

This sort of hypocrisy is absurdly silly and hideously dishonest at the same time.

The nefarious purpose behind The Atlantic’s ‘Trump and the military’ hoax. Andrea Widburg – “The fact is that the truth was never important. All that was important was to get the story out there to help Biden hide the military-related uglies in his past..”

Do Democrats Understand What They Are Supporting? Danusha Goska – “A popular Facebook meme suggests mass Democrat confusion, or complete Democrat denial.” – Long piece with citations and references supporting its thesis.

“The meme is rife with grammatical and punctuation errors, but, more importantly, it is a pack of lies. Perhaps the thousands who shared it think that their party is the party of the working man, of patriotism and fair play.

There is another, more diabolical possibility: those who shared this meme are consciously participating in Orwellian brainwashing attempts. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Today’s Democratic Party is not extreme.
…
Let’s take the meme point by point [and Goska does, in detail]

Never forget Kamala Harris’ cruel lies in the Kavanaugh confirmation fight. Carrie Severino – “Kavanaugh appeared to have no idea what she was talking about, but he was astute to the Democrats’ tactic of setting perjury traps that would lead him into making inconsistent statements that could later be spun as lies.”

Feds begin prosecuting rioters in Portland. Paul Mirengoff – “Federal prosecutors have started filing civil disorders charges against violent protesters in Portland, Oregon. They are filing the charges under a federal statute enacted in 1968 in response to the rioting of that era.”

“It’s interesting, I think, that the Congress that passed this statute was controlled by Democrats. In 1968, the GOP was outnumbered in both chambers to a much greater degree than it is now.

Back then, Democrats were serious about stopping riots. These days, they prefer to give rioters space to destroy. That space is turning out to be wherever the hell they please.
…
In addition, charges have been filed under the same statute in half a dozen other cities, according to the Oregonian.

It is also interesting that this administration is not engaged in the ‘federal troop invasion’ so emphatically accused by the Left but rather by quiet, careful, imaginative law enforcement. … “the 1968 statute is on the books and, in my view, should be used when local authorities aren’t adequately protecting the rights that statute is intended to vindicate”

Trump Deserves Re-Election For This Alone. John Hinderaker – “The memorandum bans all agencies from “training” their employees in critical race theory or white privilege. It is a thing of beauty. Here is the memo, in its entirety. It is also embedded below.”

Flynn Case Update: Defense, DOJ and Amicus Agree on Expedited Resolution Schedule. Sundance – “As a consequence the proposed date for court appearance, and hopeful final disposition, are: Sept: 23, 24, 28, 29.” The fly in the ointment here is the amicus – highly unusual, potentially illegal, and indicative of a judiciary exceeding its authority.

Morens’ and Fauci’s nutty Gaia religion. Lubos Motl – “Search for the words “extreme” and “harmony” in the article to obtain some of the most characteristic examples of “ideas” that are actually driving them.” … “A big part of the article contains these stunning far left declarations. They keep on repeating because the authors must share the belief that a lie repeated 200 times becomes the truth.”

Dissonance or whiplash?

What I Saw When The Mob Attacked After Trump’s Speech In Washington DC. Aryeh Spero – “Washington DC’s mayor and police failed to provide basic protections to American citizens from an angry and extremely well-funded leftist mob.”

“What type of mayor instructs the police department to be so indifferent to the basic safety needs of citizens and guests in her town, while focusing exclusively on the rights of mob “protesters” to rule the streets? It was as if constitutional rights are reserved for protesters against Trump but not for law-abiding citizens who are conservative.
…
One thing became clear: Someone, or some group, is financing this. I saw fancy black Suburbans picking up and dropping off people involved in these protests. We were amazed that some were staying at expensive hotels and unloading equipment near the White House in what might be the city’s most expensive underground garage. They are coordinated and organized. Someone is spending money and using hi-tech reconnaissance and planning to destroy America, and using its youth as the army to do so.

American Psychology Association: Capitalism is a Racist Disease. Daniel Greenfield – “would like to remind everyone that it has the same rigorous ethics and intellectual standards as a clown college.” … “American institutions were born from human labor and endeavor? Outrageous.” … “The APA needs to announce that its members will offer therapy for free from now on to deconstruct capitalism or be sent to the gulag of Theopia’s choice.”

Nobel Prize winners’ support for Biden proves their madness. Lubos Motl – “They’re not just “good scientists”; they are results of the selection that has (from the 1960s or so) demanded the people to be a mixture of “scientists” and “mindless Stalinist and Maoist fanatics”, with the increasing importance assigned to the latter.” … “However, the fact that they did throw this support for the mentally deteriorrating puppet of the most destructive forces now, in 2020, is particularly troubling.”

“The short letter says that it’s more important than ever to support a candidate who is pro-science and pro-immigration. Wow. They must live in a completely different galaxy.
…
But 2020 was surely the best year so far to show how utterly unscientific the U.S. Democratic Party actually is when it comes to their policies and even their ideas about how policies should be determined and which opinions should be propagated.
…
The problem isn’t just the fact that pretty much every single statement and recommendation that the U.S. Democratic Party proposed were the opposite of the truth. The even bigger problem is that they totally rejected the scientific methodology to get these answers.
…
Feynman has discussed the scientific integrity in his 1974 Caltech commencement speech, the Cargo Cult Science. All of it is relevant
…
There were way too many examples of the total denial of the basic principles of science – academic freedom, scientific integrity – by the “scientists” working for the Democratic Party.
…
And now 81 Nobel Prize winners arrive and tell you that the Biden’s party (that is shutting down schools, screaming at scientists and other people to accept the only holy truth that cannot be even debated, and that wants the whole nations to give away medieval scapegoats and multi-trillion sacrifices for no gain) represents the pro-science attitude? Wow.

Trump Swears ‘I never called our great fallen soldiers anything but heroes.’ I certainly hope so, I’m married to one. Sara Carter –“The accusations they made should have been on the record. The President has the right to confront the accusers. This is a vicious election and the President’s actions do not match up with what is being said about him in The Atlantic by these sources.”

Regarding D.C. Circuit v. Flynn: Go Ahead, Kid Me. Editorial of The New York Sun – “If courts were able to act without a dispute, they could exercise dictatorial power.” … “The D.C. Circuit has just brushed aside those objections over its own panel and ignored its own precedent.”

The Media Lynching of Kyle Rittenhouse. Robert Stacy McCain – “Attacked in Kenosha, the teenager fired in self-defense.” … “You might think that people who get paid to write for prestige publications would be better journalists than mere bloggers” … “The truncated quote, you see, omits Trump’s reference to two highly relevant facts”

Thea cult of victimhood uses gas lamps. Is there any cure?

To Find The Origins Of Today’s Race Rage, Start In 1960s Academia. John Murawski – “Critical race theory sees racism as something new in the world that was born with European imperialism, colonialism, capitalism, and rationalism.” … “CRT has long been denounced as simplistic, dogmatic, fatalistic, and toxic — a cult of victimhood that embraces racial conflict as inevitable.”

“Even as they published in law journals, critical race theorists flouted the staid conventions of the legal establishment and adopted counter-narratives, fables, parables, allegories — even science fiction — to create what Delgado has called “a kind of counter-reality,” reflecting the perspectives of the downtrodden.
…
An early alarm that critical race theory would see the First Amendment and the rule of law itself as tools of capitalist oppression was sounded by Manhattan Institute scholar Heather Mac Donald in 1995.
…
Today’s critics treat CRT as agitprop advancing totalitarianism in the guise of research and scholarship.
…
“Their philosophy is in some ways a form of psychosis because it’s not wedded to the real world,” said Jason Hill
…
“What bothers me about the talk of white privilege is that it’s used as a kind of leverage to induce shame and guilt in white people,” Hill said. “It’s really a form of white annihilation. It’s really saying to white people: By virtue of your whiteness you need to die a certain kind of social death for me to prosper.”

Along with this general Robin Hood socialist mentality are these two stories from the ‘Nevada Independent’: [other people’s money is easy to spend and Nevada has a bad case of California flu… ]

Harder-hit by virus, Nevada’s communities of color expected to take greater economic hit in pandemic’s wake. Jazmin Orozco Rodriguez, Savanna Strott – “A new Guinn Center report released Wednesday warns that Nevada’s African American, Latino, Asian and American Indian populations also face a disproportionate economic burden and will have a harder time recovering and rebuilding from the economic crisis.”

New initiative provides economic aid for immigrant Nevadans ineligible for past state and federal aid. Jazmin Orozco Rodriguez – “The Esperanza Fund will provide financial relief for Nevada’s struggling immigrant communities after they were left out of earlier federal economic stimulus aid packages because of their immigration status.”

Gaslighting America: Democrats And Media Have Turned It Up To 11. I & I Editorial Board – “Gaslighting, which drives people to “question their thoughts, memories, and the events occurring around them” because they’ve been fed a steady stream of lies and disinformation, is often used by abusers, cult leaders, and dictators to amplify their power over others. No wonder the Democrats and media have adopted it for the 2020 election.”

More examples at FrontPage: Democrats Deny They Wanted to Remove Washington Monument, Despite Report and Teachers’ Union Won’t Go Back to School — But Will Go to Sharpton’s 50,000 March by Daniel Greenfield; Covid Colonialism by John Waters. At the City Journal is To Destroy America by Mike Gonzalez. The Hill has Romney says Trump’s protest tweets ‘clearly intended to further inflame racial tensions’ by Zack Budryk. National Review has A Clutch of Fools by Kevin D. Williamson. At Breitbart is Joe Biden Denies Calling for National Mask Mandate: ‘I’m a Constitutionalist’ by Kyle Olson.

The Democrats’ Mental Problem. Joan Swirsky – “It is now so obvious that Democrats don’t smile because they suffer from a low-level of chronic depression and anxiety. Even in victory, their smiles appear forced and phony. Even when they’re in power, they see doom and gloom everywhere, victims around every corner, the sky always falling, the glass inevitably half empty.”

A very special case of a gaslighting victim is Patterico asserting that President Donald J. Trump Encourages Supporters to Commit Felony Voter Fraud. – “When you’re a criminal, every problem looks like something that could be solved by committing a crime … There are two ways to change government: through peaceful elections that the nation can trust, and through violence. Trump is doing his level best to make the former impossible, and he doesn’t seem to care about where that might lead.” He also gets into the bleach drinking lie. TDS on parade. Is there any cure? Reality certainly isn’t.

Watching Joe go slow again. Scott Johnson – “He was prepared with written responses to certain of the questions. He appears pathetic as he struggles to locate and recite them.”

Trump Orders Feds To Begin Process Of Defunding New York, Portland And Other “Lawless” Cities. Tyler Durden – “In a five-page memo sent to federal agencies on Wednesday whose subject is “Reviewing Funding to State and Local Government Recipients of Federal Funds That Are Permitting Anarchy, Violence, and Destruction in American Cities””

“This is Playing with Fire! We’re a Very Closely Divided Country Here!” – WOW! AG Bill Barr GOES OFF on Wolf Blitzer on Mail-in Voter Fraud (VIDEO) By Jim Hoft – “During the discussion Wolf Blitzer tried to defend the Democrat plan” … Scott Johnson’s review is Barr in Wolf’s den – “The interview is intensely interesting and informative, and not just by contrast with Joe Biden’s remarks on the Blake case in the adjacent post.”

The left may have made a tactical error in Kenosha. Neo – “The left would have us think this was a spontaneous demonstration by the people of Kenosha, upset at the Jacob Blake shooting, but that never seemed likely to me. It seemed fairly clear that although some would be from Kenosha, a great many of the ones looting and burning would be in the category of “outside agitators.”

The Covid-19 Pandemic is Ending. James G. Robertson – “There were 33 early states where the epidemic was over by June, and 14 late states where the epidemic now is ending.” … “In contrast to the Covid19 attributed deaths, the number for deaths from all causes is a hard number. The deaths from all causes number exposes the current mass panic as an historical aberration and confirms the evidence that the mass panic has been engineered by politicians and a biased medical establishment.” … “Nevertheless, the hysteria and panic over Covid19 has not abated. And you can expect it to get worse.”

gaslighting on steroids (i.e. propaganda extreme)

Cultural Suicide Is Painless. Victor Davis Hanson – “The story of all Dark Ages is that when civilizations finally prefer suicide, they do it easily, and the remnants flock to the countryside to preserve what they can—allowing the cities go on with their ritual self-destruction.”

The Street Violence And Gunplay Started With The Left, Not The Right. John Daniel Davidson – “As clashes between protesters and counter-protesters turn increasingly violent, the media wants you to think it’s the fault of ‘right-wing extremists.’ It’s not.”

Not a Sister Souljah moment. Paul Mirengoff – “the only people Biden identified as responsible for the violence are the police officers involved in the Blake, Floyd, and Taylor cases, plus “right wing militias.”

“Police officers aren’t rioting and looting. Neither are “right wing militias.” The rioting and looting, and nearly all of the violence, are coming from the left.

Yet Biden is unwilling to call out anyone on the left. He wants no enemies on that side of the political spectrum.

McLauglin makes a telling point. He reminds us that after the violence in Charlottesville, President Trump very specifically condemned “the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.” (Trump’s words) He did what Biden hasn’t done — call out extremists who might be inclined to support him.

As Biden falls in the polls, the media’s lies get bigger. Jack Hellner – “The greatest threat to peace, freedom, democracy and prosperity throughout the world and in the U.S. is when the media intentionally lies to the public in order to elect power hungry corrupt politicians who cater to dictators if it fits the agenda, which it almost always does.”

How Denying Reality Enables Epic Injustices. Jocelynn Cordes – “Some people refuse to acknowledge unpleasantness, but that is a grave error. Too often, behind the pleasant scenery of an ideological filter is a wretched reality of often horrifying proportions.”

Moral Equivalence is Camouflage for Moral Cowardice. Bruce Thornton – “a fear to assign responsibility where it is due.” … “The contrast between Donald Trump and the Democrats is as stark as the differences in tone and substance between the two conventions. Nor is there any equivalence moral or otherwise between the two parties’ policy programs and governing philosophies.”

California DA’s new policy to consider looters’ ‘needs’ before charging them. Lia Eustachewich – “Becton recently penned an opinion piece for Politico magazine, along with four other DAs who are black women — Satana Deberry in Durham County, North Carolina, Kim Gardner in St. Louis, Missouri, Kim Foxx in Cook County, Illinois, and Rachael Rollins in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. … The article consists of 11 pieces of criminal justice reform that they say are designed to fix a “flawed system” that wrongly targets black people and people of color.” Racism writ large.

More secrecy in the Jussie Smollett case. Who is protecting whom now? Chicago Tribune Editorial Board – “The attitude of major players in the county’s criminal justice system toward the citizens who employ them has amounted to a dismissive Just trust us. But instead of blindly trusting anyone in this still unfolding legal debacle, the public is left to wonder who’s protecting whom from criticism — and why.”

3 Pieces Of Recycled Collusion Garbage In The Senate Intelligence Report. Adam Mill – “Senate insiders obviously coordinated with allies in the media to spin the 1,000-page report in a desperate effort to revive the Russian collusion hoax.”

The Democrats Explain Their Voter Fraud Plans. John Hinderaker – “Perhaps the most notable feature of this story is that a relatively prominent Democratic Party news outlet acknowledges it is likely that President Trump will “seem” to have won a landslide victory on Election Day, so that “weeks” of post-election fraud by the Democrats will be needed to throw the election into chaos. Will that happen? At the moment, it seems likely.”

The Big COVID Con Exposed. Brian C. Joondeph, M.D. – “In the past week, two pillars of the COVID Con collapsed: deaths and positive tests.”

“This is information warfare, weaponizing medical data to influence an election, regardless of the cost in lives and economic damage. But the Big Con is being exposed, darkness to light. Hopefully voters are noticing and awakening to the con pushed by the left and the media.

The Pre-Mask-Cult Science Against Universal Public Masking Hasn’t Changed One Bit. Scott Morefield – “When it comes to the “facts” you receive about coronavirus from the left and the mainstream media, the only thing that’s certain is the fact that we’re all being gaslit.”

OH THE HORROR! Sturgis Motorcycle Rally COVID-19 Numbers Are in and They Are Shocking. Stacey Lennox – “We should be more than thrilled with these numbers given it was a gathering of nearly a half a million people with little social distancing and a lot of close-contact extracurriculars.” … “I can only find confirmation of three hospitalizations at this point in the reporting. Two of the patients have confirmed discharges indicating they will fully recover.” … “Even using the largest number of positive tests and granting they all 222 resulted from rally attendance, 0.048% of attendees and contacts tested positive for COVID-19.”

blinded to their own bias

D.C. Court Endorses Continued Legal Harassment Of Michael Flynn. Margot Cleveland – “That the majority of the D.C. Circuit cannot see that Judge Sullivan has a vendetta against Michael Flynn makes one wonder if they are blinded to their own bias as well?” … “Flynn, though, has already waited long enough for justice. And justice delayed is justice denied.” But the court doesn’t seem to care.

D.C. Circuit Panel Rules Against House in McGahn Case. Elliot Setzer – “The court found that the House’s Committee on the Judiciary lacks a cause of action to bring the suit because no statute gives the chamber authority to do so.”

Governor of Oregon Announces Bold Plan to Prosecute and Lock Up Rioters. Greenfield – “First there are several paragraphs of virtue signaling about right-wing provocateurs. Followed by the incredibly right-wing proposal to lock up violent rioters and keep them locked up…” … “After 3 months, the various parties in the law enforcement and criminal justice system have agreed to do their jobs.” … “Brown’s plan to have the authorities do what they should have done 90 days ago is all but doomed.”

Oregon sheriffs reject Gov. Kate Brown’s request to staff Portland protests. David Aaro – “Brown said the nearly 100 days of protests have stretched the Portland Police Bureau’s resources thin” … “Had Governor Brown discussed her plan with my office, I would have told her it’s about changing policy, not adding resources,” Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts said. It’s the Soros supported DA, again.

After BLM chaos in Kenosha, ‘Black Voices for Trump’ move in to clean up trash, destruction. Michael Canaan – “A contingent of the Black Voices for Trump coalition joined forces with Scott Presler … The coalition, whose mission is to encourage Black Americans to support the President, worked with Presler in Milwaukee for most of the day on Saturday.”

Biden Chooses Farce Over Facts. Lloyd Billingsley – “Dem presidential nominee blames Trump for violence, fails to condemn Antifa, and offers no sympathy for victims.” … “How Joe Biden’s sudden revelation that rioting, looting and arson are “not protesting” will play with the people is uncertain. For his part, President Trump visits Kenosha on Tuesday, despite opposition from Democrat governor Tony Evers.”

Watching Joe go slow. Scott Johnson – “Team Biden staged a televised event for Joe Biden to speak inside an empty Pittsburgh site. He stared fixedly at a prompter placed at some distance before him. He had no audience and took no questions. The thing was weird beyond belief. … Here are a few items that I think are worthy of note, mostly without further comment:” … “He is fortunate to be graced by an utterly compliant press.”

Massive Super PAC poised to ‘swift-boat’ Biden in key states. Karen Townsend – “Preserve America is using ‘real’ Americans and they are telling some compelling personal stories. Two ad spots can be previewed today.”

The New York Times on Trial. Editorial of The New York Sun – “Sarah Palin Brings a Libel Case for a Parlous Era” … “It could prove illuminating for all those who are recklessly accusing their foes of being a party to violence.”

The Charges Against Kyle Rittenhouse. Grant Baker – “The defense against Counts 1 to 5 will be Wisconsin’s broad self-defense laws.” … “There is an exception for minors under 18 years of age armed with a rifle, which Kyle was indeed armed with.”

“prosecutors must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Kyle Rittenhouse did not believe he had risk of great bodily harm and that the force he used was unreasonable according to Kyle’s own standards. Unlikely, given the facts of the case.

Additionally, both men killed by Rittenhouse had their hands on Kyle’s gun at the time of being shot, a detail confirmed by eyewitness Richard McGinnis and videos of the incident, making the men in possession of a gun. Both Rosenbaum and Huber were convicted felons and therefore may not possess firearms in Wisconsin. Bizarrely, even the charges mention that the men had grabbed Rittenhouse’s gun, undermining the prosecutors’ allegations. Worse yet, Gaige Grosskreutz, the third felon shot by Rittenhouse, had an illegal handgun drawn and pointed at Rittenhouse just before being shot. Grosskreutz later admitted through a third party that “his only regret was not killing the kid and hesitating to pull the gun before emptying the entire mag into him.” Grosskreutz has not been charged with a crime.
…
Considering the facts of the case and the state laws governing Wisconsin, it becomes clear that Kyle’s actions were not reckless — the prosecutor’s decisions were.
…
The frailty of the charges brought against Kyle Rittenhouse show the well from which the insurrectionist mobs draw their power: the political class, the prosecutor’s office, and the media.

Protecting Your Home or Camp with Early Warning Systems, Part 1. Noah – “We shoot looters on sight” becomes a familiar sight after natural disasters, and along with your prepping plans, it’s easy to see how important it is to consider home security plans as well.”

Mass vote-by-mail really does invite fraud — we need to guard against it. New York Post Editorial Board – “Voting fraud, especially via mail-in ballots, is a cinch to pull off, warns a top Democratic operative, who’s done it repeatedly. Yet voting by mail will be a huge part of the November election. Which is why officials need to plug the holes now.” – denial in Nevada is visible in the report Trump: Democrats ‘100 percent’ want to take away union health plans; ‘a lot of tricks’ being played with mail-in voting by Megan Messerly.

Coronavirus in one state (93). Scott Johnson – “the regular Department of Health press briefing (audio below) reached new depths of sorrow, threat, and panic by the commissioner of the mournful countenance.” … “And we are not allowed to forget the Sturgis apocalypse. Infectious Disease Director Kris Ehresmann announced that they now attribute some 49 cases and two hospitalizations to Sturgis. That leaves us a few hundred short of the number of cases attributed to the approved protests and facilitated riots in Minneapolis following the death of George Floyd on Memorial Day.”

Scientific American: ‘What Climate Change Does to the Human Body’ – Doctor: ‘In my own practice, I explain to patients how the climate crisis affects their health’. Climate Depot – “Climate action is required of our elected leaders, and we must mandate it of ourselves. It can be as simple as educating family and friends, while making sustainable shopping and traveling choices. Climate action is required of our elected leaders, and we must mandate it of ourselves. It can be as simple as educating family and friends, while making sustainable shopping and traveling choices.” Propaganda propagates like a virus.
