The recall is for “Certain Dometic two-door refrigerators manufactured between April 1997 and May 2003” (safercar.gov). The concern is that a coolant leak might cause a fire. The current ‘fix’ is a simple shield. Chris thinks a bit of outrage might be worthwhile to get a proper fix. See his post if you have one of these appliances.
