The Sierra Nevada Unit looks to the founding principles of it's parent organization, the Wally Byam Caravan Club, International to provide the foundation of the Unit. These principles guide the SNU in it's activities and it's management.

The SNU always welcomes fellow Airstreamers and potential Airstreamers to our rallies. In 2015 we had guests at Glass Creek rally
SNU members and affiliates participated in other WBCCI activities including:
The WBCCI International Rally in Farmington
The Balloon Fiesta Rally
The Region 12 Rally in Minden
The Cali-Rally
WBCCI Caravans
The SNU and NorCal held a joint rally at Prosser Family Campground in August. This is the first joint SNU/NorCal rally since 1980. Activities included presentations by Don Williams and his slide show of the Aleyska Caravan he and Gail went on in 2014, Don’s sourdough pancake breakfast, and a visit to nearby Independence Lake.
The SNU co-hosted the Region 12 rally in Minden. SNU members were involved in the planning and in a variety of other capacities including leading tours of local attractions, providing entertainment, and creating unique decorations for rally venues.
The SNU was sadden by the loss of three former SNU members in 2015, Don Damoth and Von Gallion in April and Eldon Perkins in November. Don and Eldon were both past presidents of the SNU.
The SNU made several advancements in it’s monetary and membership systems in 2015. It encouraged all members to renew online through WBCCI. Any dues payments made to the SNU were transferred to WBCCI electronically via PayPal. WBCCI transferred any Unit dues it received to the SNU via PayPal. All SNU banking, including deposits is now done electronically. The SNU is one of the first Units to utilize PayPal for dues payments and transfers. The SNU part of the system has been in place almost 10 years.
It all starts at the bottom between you and your local unit. Make it work for you. Get involved, share the fun, build on the history and create new memories.
“It's the Airstreams that bring us together but it's the people who keep us together” - Jerry Thornburg (2797) describing the SNU
"The WBCCI is an exclusive club because not everyone owns an Airstream! The idea is to get out and have fun with your RV - with friends who share common interests." - Bryan R. Leipper (772)
“The formula that the leadership in our unit uses comes straight from Wally and his creed which they have adopted as the primary focus of the group. It also comes by their determination to be inclusive with respect to the members, open to new ideas and by providing opportunities for everyone to participate in the way that best suits them.” - Former SNU member
