2008 SNU Rally in Death Valley

What to expect at an SNU rally

Never been to an SNU rally? This page will give you information on arrival and departure times, meals, activities, and other information that will help make the rally an enjoyable experience.

Additional Information on the Death Valley Rally

Arrival time - anytime after noon on Thursday November 19th

Fees: Kitty Kall: $5 per rig per night payable at the rally or online in advance (see below) plus $10 per night individual campground fee.

Note: Rally participants will also need to pay an entrance fee to Death Valley of $20 unless they have an America the Beautiful Annual Pass ($80 per year), Senior Pass (seniors 62 and over, appears to be a one time $10 for a lifetime), Access Pass (free for those with disabilities) and Volunteer Pass. These passes replace the old Golden Eagle and Passport, Golden Age Passport and Golden Access Passport passes. It is well worth it to purchase the annual pass, especially if you plan to visit other National Parks.

Events and activities: Morning coffee klatch is from about 7 to 9 on Saturday and Sunday. Happy hours will likely occur on Friday and Saturday starting about 5 p.m. All gatherings will be informal and BYO (bring your own) to share as suits your karma. If you want to coordinate and plan, then form your own conspiracy with whomever is handy!

Weather: moderate, can be cool at night.

Facilities: Good gravel parking spots, flush toilets, dump station

Nearby attractions: include Scotties Castle, Stovepipe Wells, all sorts of geological and historical points of interest to explore.

If you can't make it for the entire time, feel free to join us for a few hours, one day, or whatever time frame fits your schedule.
