What: 3 day Rally, members & guests welcome. Board meeting Saturday open to all.
When: Thursday September 20 to Sunday September 23, 2007
Arrival time - anytime after noon on Thursday September 20
Where: Coming from Reno, Fernley, Carson City , or Fallon areas at the Silver Springs junction go south on US 95 alternate towards Yerington. A few miles out of Silver Springs turn left on the road to Lahonton. The turn off is well marked. Follow the road to the entrance to Lahonton recreational area. Turn left and go past the entrance shack and dump station and continue to follow the road around the north west side of the reservoir to the end of the paved road. The SNU rally will be at Beach 7 to the right just after leaving the paved road.
Fees: Each participant will need to pay their own camping fee. As of February 2004 the entrance fee is $4 and the camp fee is $10 per night. For seniors with current Nevada State Park Pass camping fees are waived.
Events and activities: Morning coffee klatch is from about 7 to 9 on Saturday and Sunday. Happy hours will likely occur on Friday and Saturday starting about 5 p.m. The unit meeting will be held Saturday at about 1 p.m. following the pot luck lunch. All gatherings will be informal and BYO (bring your own) to share as suits your karma. If you want to coordinate and plan, then form your own conspiracy with whomever is handy! Bring wood for campfires
Weather: moderate, can be cool at night.
Facilities: no facilities, dry camping, lots of trees
Nearby attractions: Enjoy the peace and quiet of lakeside camping, fishing and boating, hiking and good bike riding possibilities.
If you can't make it for the entire time, feel free to join us for a few hours, one day, or whatever time frame fits your schedule.
