In In 1927 Helen married Henry Schwamborn. In 1930 Helen and Henry moved to California. It was after moving to California the Schwamborn's and the Byam's (Helen's cousin Wally Byam) developed a closer relationship and Helen began her Airstream adventures.

While Helen and Pee Wee were doing all the traveling Henry's had appliance store kept him home. This isn't to say he didn't play his role in early travel and Airstreaming. Henry often went on camping trips with Wally, Helen and other family members. He and Helen frequently hosted Airstreamers at their home.

Quite simply my Dad was the home anchor. He went to local rallies with my Mother, but never went on Caravans or prolonged trips. He supported my Mother 100% and she needed this, and his love and attention. Her job was grueling. But he was always there for "Babe", his name of affection for his Wife, my Mother.

Henry died in 1966.
